PLT Health Solutions and Nektium reveal research backing Zynamite’s cognitive performance

A new clinical study by Nektium Pharma demonstrates that its Zynamite S enhances non-stimulative mental energy, faster information processing, mood, mental flexibility, and cognitive performance in a single dose of 100 or 150 mg. The ingredient is a patented, proprietary extract from mango leaf (Mangifera indica), standardized to ≥ 60% mangiferin.

Zynamite S is the water-soluble form of Zynamite, with a neutral taste for beverages and taste-sensitive formulations. 

PLT Health Solutions’s global head of Brand Management, Joe Weiss, says the innovation can bring an “experiential response” to beverage, food, and supplement products. The company is Nektium’s exclusive marketing partner for the Zynamite range in North America.

Weiss adds that the ingredient has also been shown to help “manage tension and emotional discomfort, providing a sense of calm, even during demanding situations.” The rapid, sustained effects can contribute to extended focus and productivity sessions.

Effective in a single dose

The clinical study had a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover design with a seven-day washout between testing conditions. In it, 120 healthy university students received 100 or 150 mg of Zynamite S or a matching placebo. Researchers assessed their cognitive performance three times over a five-hour period: at 30 minutes, three hours, and five hours. 

The researchers found significant improvements in cognitive performance, including improved processing speed, increased focus and attention, better mental flexibility, and ability to manage complex tests, elevated mood, reduced tension, and enhanced energy. 

Moreover, the effects occurred after one single dose and were long-lasting, up to five hours after ingestion. 

In a single dose, Zynamite S showed a broad range of energy and cognitive performance benefits among students.Dr. Laura Lopez, one of the study’s researchers and head of Product Research, Development & Innovation at Nektium, says the study was designed to assess the effects of a low, single dose of Zynamite S on cognitive performance within a short time frame. 

“The results of this study certainly demonstrate that using Zynamite S is ‘experiential.’ Cognitive performance and mood improvements were shown throughout a single morning in subjects undergoing demanding tests.”

Water-soluble applications

Zynamite has been shown to enhance mental energy and boost cognitive performance as a standalone ingredient or in combination with other solutions. The water-soluble version, Zynamite S, allows formulators to include it in delivery systems where taste is an issue.
