Plant-powered sports nutrition start-up targets US$1m in crowdfunding campaign
19 Nov 2019 --- Elevate Nutrition, a US-based high-performance nutrition business, has launched a crowdfunding investment campaign via StartEngine. The start-up specializes in a range of sports supplements “formulated for modern health and fitness” made “solely from plants.” Tapping into clean label demands, the brand’s range of muscle-building supplements do not contain artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners. Currently valued at US$5 million, Elevate is now seeking to raise US$1.07 million by the end of January next year.
“We went from merely a concept to over US$400,000 in sales and established more than 2,500 loyal customers in a time span of under two-and-a-half years,” says Jillian Salomone, Co-Founder and CEO.
Through the introduction of performance supplements that are “healthy for both the individual and the environment,” Elevate Nutrition has tapped into a plant-based marketplace that it outlines as expected to reach a worth of US$9.5 billion by 2024, with nearly seven out of ten US consumers attempting to expand upon their plant-based diet.
Among Elevate Nutrition’s range of product offerings are plant-based Performance Protein, BCAA Powder and Pre-Workout Energy. The products are naturally sweetened with monk fruit and colored using vegetables, such as beetroot. Monk fruit is a sugar replacer featured strongly in NPD among food and beverage items this year.
“We are not a traditional sports nutrition company that leverages harmful animal-based products and artificial sweeteners. However, we are not your average vegan nutrition company that neglects aesthetics, modern lifestyle, and fitness needs. We are merging both worlds,” explains Paul Salomone, Co-Founder and COO.
Elevate is marketed as a pioneer and unique company in the sports nutrition marketplace. The new crowdfunding investment campaign enables interested parties in the plant-based, vegan, keto and fitness communities to invest in the company at US$2 per share.
With its line of plant-based supplements, Elevate is seeking to make animal products “a specter of the past.” Their supplements are
formulated for modern health and fitness and claim to leverage the “finest and most effective ingredients” to enhance athletic performance.“Prospective investors in the Elevate name should take into consideration the fact that, to date, we've seen a 142-percent year-over-year growth since our inception, and have sold more than 10,000 units – and counting,” says Paul Salomone.
“We envision a future wherein plant-based nutrition is no longer an alternative, but the go-to choice, and we invite other like-minded individuals to take this journey with us through an investment in everything Elevate stands for,” concludes Jillian Salomone.
“The Plant-Based Revolution” was recently pegged by Innova Market Insights as a top trend driving NPD in 2020, driven by rising consumer interest in health, sustainability and ethics.
