Pharmactive Biotech’s Plasys300 supports men’s bladder health, consumer research flags
Pharmactive Biotech’s natural complex Plasys300 may offer men relief from nocturia — frequent nighttime urination — according to a recent consumer study. The product was formulated to support men’s prostate and bladder health. It is a natural, proprietary composition of rye pollen enriched with phytosterols, mainly beta-sitosterol.
Nocturia is a key symptom of Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH), a common condition affecting men as they age where an enlarged prostate obstructs the bladder. BPH affects around 40% of men in their 50s, with incidences increasing to around 90% of men over 80. Other common symptoms include incomplete bladder emptying, leakage and chronic discomfort.
“Nocturia is known to disrupt sleep quality and negatively impact the overall quality of life,” stresses María Inés Morán Valero, Ph.D., senior scientific researcher R&D and scientific studies manager for Pharmactive.
“We found that men have very specific and clear expectations for nocturia supplements. They want a product that effectively reduces the urge to urinate at night, minimizing nighttime awakenings so they can sleep more soundly and feel less fatigued. They also expressed a preference for natural ingredients that fellow consumers have tested for safety, efficacy and reliability.”
Consumer perceptions
In an eight-week consumer study, 50 healthy male participants aged 40–60 experiencing nocturia consumed one 300 mg capsule of Plasys300 daily. The participants conducted online self-assessments.
After the study, 88% of participants reported meaningful reductions in the urge to urinate, and 90% said they had fewer nighttime awakenings. In addition, over 80% reported better sleep quality and improvements in overall well-being and quality of life.
Carlos Rodriguez, communication manager for Pharmactive, highlights: “The results of the current study are very promising, especially the significant improvements reported in symptoms related to nocturia.”
“It also revealed a high percentage of satisfaction among participants — close to 90% of the users. Nine out of ten study participants expressed intent to purchase our natural formula and said they would recommend it to others. These findings reinforce the efficacy of Plasys300 and emphasize its potential as a valuable natural solution for men’s urinary health.”

Plasys300 is standardized to at least 50% phytosterols and 1% essential amino acids extracted from rye pollen. Pharmactive notes that the combination is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent as these compounds synergistically improve hormonal balance and urinary difficulties while reducing BPH discomfort.
The solution’s bioactives are backed by claims from the European Food Safety Authority for their activity in helping maintain a healthy bladder in adults over 40 and a healthy prostate. Pharmactive introduced the formulation at the recent CPHI trade show.
According to the company, clinical research finds that beta-sitosterol, the main compound in Plasys300, inhibits excess testosterone production, which can lead to prostate enlargement.
Previous in vitro studies conducted by Pharmactive revealed the phytosterol fraction in Plasys300’s antiproliferative effect on prostate cell lines and its capacity to inhibit 5-alpha-reductase concentrations.
In addition, earlier research suggested several mechanisms through which the product may support prostate health, which together help relax the urinary tract, easing symptoms such as urgency and leakage.
The product helps establish a hormonal balance by inhibiting aromatase and 5-alpha-reductase concentrations in the prostate. These enzymes are responsible for testosterone production. Moreover, Plasys300 balances specific cellular growth factors that impact the maintenance of normal functioning of the prostate and prevent overstimulation of specific prostate receptors.
“More clinical studies on Plasys300 are in the pipeline,” concludes Morán Valero. “We are exploring new areas of research toward broadening its applications. As we enhance our understanding of how Plasys300 works, we can further position it as a reliable, science-backed solution for men’s health.”
