Performance boost: PLT Health Solutions adds Cellflo6 to active nutrition portfolio
Sports and active nutrition player PLT Health Solutions reveals it is adding Cellflo6 — a patented green tea (Camellia sinensis) oligomer containing gallate — to its ingredient portfolio. The ingredient has been clinically studied and shown to have a range of health benefits and supports exercise and recovery.
The ingredient is already featured in several men’s health, energy, pre-workout and recovery supplements and formulations, including US Military Tier 1 Operators’ recovery formulations and a new zero-sugar energy drink — 7-Select Fusion Energy — featured at over 30,000 North American retail outlets, including 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes.

Clinically-proven benefits
PLT Health Solutions highlights that Cellflo6 offers a unique opportunity for product formulators to develop novel and experiential sports, recovery and wellness offerings. This is due to the botanical ingredient in Cellflo6 and the standardized levels of galloylated procyanidins.
The ingredient — protected by US Patent Number US 11,766,422 B2 — utilizes galloylated procyanidins to treat endovascular dysfunction and enhance blood flow. It also supports cellular health, combats free radical damage and helps reduce oxidative stress.
Additionally, it delivers the traditional benefits linked to green tea catechins, including support for exercise recovery, muscle recovery, metabolic health and weight management.
According to Matt Nickerson, the co-inventor of Cellflo6, the ingredient is gaining ground in the sports nutrition and functional beverage markets.

Other developments
The addition of Cellflo6 to PLT Health Solutions’ portfolio comes alongside other recent developments and offerings. The company recently received an updated license from Health Canada’s Natural and Non-Prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD) to market its AprèsFlex 5-Day Joint Support ingredient in the country.
At the same time, the NNHPD granted the company cognitive support health claims for its Nutricog Cognitive Performance Complex following a clinical trial affirming its ability to enhance learning, memory, sustained attention, working memory and executive function.
Meanwhile, the company recently partnered with Revival Health to create Total Male Vitality, a supplement designed to enhance muscle strength, endurance and physique-building in men. This product includes PLT’s RipFactor, an ingredient proven to support muscle maintenance and growth and to increase testosterone levels.
