Omega Ingredients Achieves Global Quality Standards Certification
Designed to assure quality, safety, operational criteria and manufacturers’ fulfillment of legal obligations, the BRC Global Standards also help to protect the consumer and so are widely used by suppliers and global retailers.
Nov 14 2011 --- The Great Blakenham firm Omega Ingredients Ltd, which creates and manufactures flavours, fragrances and ingredients for commercial use, is proud to announce it has gained certification for both the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards in Food Safety and ISO 9001 Quality Management standard.
Designed to assure quality, safety, operational criteria and manufacturers’ fulfillment of legal obligations, the BRC Global Standards also help to protect the consumer and so are widely used by suppliers and global retailers. ISO 9001 provides a sound infrastructure for managing risk, with documented procedures, involving staff and customers in feedback and providing clear evidence to show all processes are working well.
Steve Pearce, CEO and Founder of Omega Ingredients Ltd, said “I am delighted with the “double-whammy” achievement of our BRC and ISO 9001 successes and this is a super reflection of our team’s hard work and commitment to quality management. Each audit involved a lengthy and comprehensive process, with an independent assessor checking and examining each of our implemented systems, policies and procedures to guarantee product safety, consistency, continuity and best practice at every single stage of the sourcing and manufacturing processes. Certification is just the start, because both BRC and ISO 9001 require continuous improvement and this fits well with our investment in facilities and staff training”.
