Nutraceutical brand ÄKTA launches in India in partnership with Sundyota Numandis Group
13 Dec 2021 --- A new entrant to the Indian nutraceutical space, ÄKTA, has launched. The brand’s products are designed to promote sleep, relaxation, immunity, energy and strength. The brand has made a commitment to sourcing its ingredients from local producers, with aims to help support the local economy.
The company was founded by Deepthi Yarlagadda and advisors Kiran Yarlagadda and Gopal Kolli in partnership with Sundyota Numandis Group, a nutraceutical, microbiome and phytopharmaceutical manufacturer.
ÄKTA will be capitalizing on the well-established market for nutraceuticals and lifestyle supplements. According to Lu Ann Williams, director of Innova Market Insights, this market will expand even further in the future. A reported 61% of global consumers are set to increase their spending on health in the new 2022.
Star ingredients
In line with the launch, ÄKTA is introducing three nutraceuticals marketed as promoting mood, immunity and healthy sleeping patterns – Bye-Bye Stress, Good Immunity and Beet Strong.
The first product, Bye-Bye Stress, targets relaxation and sleep. The blend is a synergy of lactium, melatonin and the Ayurvedic ingredient ashwagandha.
Lactium is an ingredient made from milk protein that promotes mood stability, which is highlighted by the Sundyota Numandis group to reduce cortisol, a stress hormone. Melatonin is a sleep hormone that is used to regulate sleeping cycles.
Ashwagandha has been seeing increasing levels of mainstream appeal after it was highlighted as a Star Ingredient in Innova’s Top Ten Trends for 2020. It is also featured in Gaia Herbs’ new offerings for sleep and stress.
Good Immunity is a supplement containing EchinActive, Eleulide, vitamin C and zinc. EchinActive is Sundyota Numandis Group’s ingredient made from a proprietary extract of the Echinacea purpurea flower. This ingredient is thought to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also said by the company to have antiviral effects.
Eleulide, also created by the Sundyota Numandis Group, consists of a blend of extracts from Acanthopanax senticosus (Siberian ginseng) and Andrographis paniculata (green chiretta). It is also said to have antiviral properties and is believed to act as an immunostimulant. Vitamin C and zinc are both known to support immune function.
The third nutraceutical launch, Beet Strong, is promoted as helping overall well-being by harnessing the properties of beetroot. It is a multivitamin that provides users with their daily required vitamins, in addition to the benefits of beetroot.
The fledgling brand’s vision
The brand’s primary founder, Deepthi Yarlagadda, is a registered nutritionist in North Carolina. She is an advocate for nutritional equality and accessibility.
Her advisors, Gopal Kolli and Kiran Yarlagadda, have backgrounds in global business, healthcare and start-ups. They aim to make nutritional supplements more obtainable to the public.
“Our vision is of a future where access to pure nutrition and its incredible benefits are readily available. ÄKTA is working toward this goal by developing products that are easily accessible and champion good health,” comment the ÄKTA advisors.
