09/05/05 The United States, Mrs Baird's Bakeries has announced the launch of a special health conscious bread as consumer interest heightens around whole grains. Harvest Selects 100% Whole Grain is the latest in a line of multi-grain breads offered by Mrs Baird's and continues the tradition of hand twisting each loaf of bread, a special commitment to quality that helped make Mrs Baird's the best selling bread in Texas.

Baird in 1908, hand twisting the dough before it rises is an added step in the baking process that improves the texture and enhances the softness of the bread.
In January, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) teamed-up and released the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005.
