Marrying superfoods and caffeine: Hyperbite Energy launches chewable energy mint
21 Jun 2021 --- Supplement brand Hyperbite Energy is launching its first two products, Hyperbite Energy and Hyperbite Energy Pre-workout. In a compact chewable mint, the product offers rapid absorption.
Both products were designed to dissolve in the mouth rather than the gut, which allows for a faster response time, the company states. Additionally, it eliminates the gastric upset that is associated with energy drinks, powders and shots.
“Hyperbite Energy contains organic caffeine and polyphenols which are sourced from both the coffee bean and the coffee cherry. It also contains seven different superfoods for antioxidant and circulatory support,” Sam Khan, the company’s chief operating officer, states.
Hyperbite Energy’s chewable mints are positioned as affordable. The mints have a carry-on format and are less than half the cost per serving can, without the fluid.
Energy supplements on the rise
The launch is in line with the increasing global supplement intake, with 18 percent of supplement launches in North America featuring an energy claim.
Innova Market Insights’ data reveals that supplement launches have increased globally, with a year-over-year increase of 43 percent between 2019 and 2018.Hyperbite Energy products do not contain preservatives and artificial coloring.
Functional ingredients were the top subcategories of the supplement increases in 2019.
Additionally, supplements with energy and stamina claims are rising, with an average annual growth rate of 50 percent since 2017. Botanicals, as well as components like zinc and maca extract, are gaining traction in this space. In addition, food and beverage launches with energy ingredients tailored to specific lifestyles are popular.
Considering the rise of supplements with energy claims, Hyperbite Energy is positioned as being popular with not only professional athletes but also with a diverse crowd of people looking to boost their daily energy.
Healthy ingredients?
Hyperbite’s products are made from minimal ingredients with 140 mg of organic caffeine in each serving. This comes directly from the non-GMO coffee cherry, which is one of the active ingredients in Hyperbite Energy.
Khan adds that the coffee beans are grown from Rainforest Alliance-certified farms and deliver “ethical plant-based energy and plant-based micronutrients in every mint.”
Other supplement companies are also harnessing organic caffeine. One example is PlantFuel, a plant-based nutritional brand offering plant-based supplements.
Similarly, a supplement business, Lewa of Sweden, is developing vitamin and antioxidant gum strip-resembling products as an alternative to energy drinks.
