Madmonq Champion taps into rising e-sports market with holistic supplementation
16 Nov 2021 ---- Madmonq is targeting the increasingly lucrative e-sports market with Madmonq Champion, marketed as the first all-inclusive daily health supplement to help gamers improve their performance. “Stress, ‘fast’ nutrition, bright light exposure, dopamine imbalance and the pressure we put our bodies under pose serious challenges for any gamer’s health,” Michal Noga, CEO and founder, tells NutritionInsight.
The tablet contains more than 24 clinically-researched ingredients aimed at combating nutritional deficiencies and symptoms affecting gamers’ performance.
Boosting performance
According to the Czechia-based company, both experienced and novice gamers often deal with low energy levels, weakened immunity as well as bone and joint aches. Studies show a connection between common nutritional deficiencies and symptoms affecting gamers’ performance, notes Madmonq.
The product is free from both caffeine and sugar, while including carotenoids, amino acids, antioxidants, B vitamins, minerals and extracts from plants, herbs and fruits.
“Champion is designed uniquely for gamers’ long-term health, with one chewable tablet aiming to target over 30 key deficiencies players may commonly face,” adds Noga.
The supplement purports to boost the body’s immune and reproductive system, as well as target vision, blood circulation, mood and mental comfort. Madmonq Champion offers antioxidative and detox support, energy conversion and reinforces bones, joints, tendons and muscles. There is a growing interest in health within the gaming space, according to the company.
Feeling and looking good
Apart from making gamers feel healthy by helping with immunity and vision, the product also aims to target users’ overall well-being and appearance.
“Even if it doesn’t seem like it, gamers do care about looking great, feeling great and even their reproductive organs. We specifically designed the product in a way to also promote healthy hormonal balance, as there is a clear link between zinc deficiency and the amount of free testosterone circulating in your body,” notes Noga.
“Selenium promotes spermatogenesis while tribulus, fenugreek (which are popular in products promoting libido) or L-citrulline work in multiple ways, for instance, boosting nitric oxide in the body, helping arteries relax and improving blood flow.”
The beauty segment of the item aims to boost hair, nails and beards with sulfuric amino acids L-methionine and L-cystine, as well as zinc, vitamin E and copper.
Although the primary customers are men, the ingredients are universal, notes Noga. “Selenium or zinc and even tribulus, will benefit female gamers too, though the mode of action will be different.”
2030 vision
Lack of awareness on health is rampant across the gaming and e-sport sphere, according to the company.
It is rife with habits such as consumption of energy products that lead to energy crashes, prescription medication, psychological strain and lack of sleep. Coupled with suboptimal diet and lack of physical exercise, players need to revert to a more sustainable approach, Madmonq outlines.Gamers often get very little sleep.
In a bid to combat the issue, the company outlines its goal for 2030 is to ensure “every gamer gives health the same amount of attention they give to their hardware setup.”
Overall, the gaming space appears to be growing, with Skinz.GG last year launching a supplement range for e-sports. The “Power Your Performance” supplements address key areas that impact gamer performance, including energy, focus, pain and sleep.
Beneo, Gelita and AstaReal have spotlighted e-sports as a rising market for food and supplement NPD. In 2019, it generated revenue of more than US$950 million, with the COVID-19 pandemic further spurring its development as playing video games is a common pastime for consumers in lockdown.
In February, a German study revealed that gamers eat healthier than the general public but consume too much meat and energy drinks.
