Lallemand Health Ingredients Launches Cranberry Powder in Softchew Form 

30/01/08 Lallemand Health Ingredients has announced the availability of PACran, the clinically documented, standardized cranberry powder in a softchew form. Each 5.5 gram softchew delivers 500 mg of PACran Whole Cranberry Powder standardized on proanthocyanidin (PAC). This is the daily recommended dose to support urinary tract health. Cranberries are widely known for their unique anti-adhesion activity that protects the body from harmful bacteria that cause urinary tract infections, a condition affecting million women in the world. This anti-adhesion activity is primarily due to natural antioxidants, Proanthocyanidins. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Database for the Proanthocyanidin Content of Selected Foods, Cranberry PACs contain a unique A-type structure, while most other plants contain only the more common B-type PACs. It is cranberry’s A-type PACs that are responsible for the anti-adhesion mechanism of action.
