Kemin Launches All-Natural Green Tea Extract for Dietary Supplements

July 26 2011 --- Kemin has launched AssuriTEA Green, a safe, all-natural, green tea powder ingredient that provides a superior antioxidant profile and other healthful benefits of green tea.

AssuriTEA Green is 100% water-extracted, retaining the natural composition and antioxidant profile of brewed green tea, which has been consumed safely for centuries. Green tea is well supported in the scientific literature for its antioxidant benefits and diverse health benefits.  Antioxidants are nutrients that prevent or reduce oxidative damage that occurs daily in the body.

Solvent tea extracts typically offer a concentrated formulation of a single constituent of the tea leaf.  With AssuriTEA Green, a gentle water extraction process is used to ensure the ingredient offers the full spectrum of green tea polyphenols -- EGCG, non-EGCG catechins, and non-catechin antioxidants.

Only select tea cultivars sourced from Kemin's exclusive supplier are used for AssuriTEA.  The tea plants are subject to carefully controlled good agricultural practices and then stringent ingredient processing steps to deliver an optimum quality tea.  AssuriTEA's "regulatory-friendly" profile facilitates its use in supplements formulated for international markets.
