Kashi Company Challenges Consumers to Prove that Health Food Can Taste Great
Tasters can obtain a Kashi TLC Chewy Trail Mix granola bar by signing up at www.kashi.com, and after trying it, can vote that the bar was "quite tasty" or "tasted a lot like cardboard."
01/09/06 Kashi Company, the premier natural food products company, today issued a challenge to consumers to prove that health food can taste great. Beginning Monday, September 4, Kashi will give away free samples of its TLC Chewy Trail Mix granola bar to individuals that log onto the Kashi Web site, www.kashi.com. If tasters don't love the bar, they can watch Kashi Head Food Developer, Jeff Grogg, eat the box the bars are packaged in. If he does have to eat the box, the mouth-watering stunt will air on the Kashi Web site on Thursday, October 19.
"We issued this challenge to help people overcome the notion that food that's good for you has to taste like cardboard," said Grogg. "Kashi's TLC Chewy Trail Mix granola bar is hearty and fulfilling, packed with honey toasted oats, plump cranberries and roasted almonds, making it as incredibly delicious as it is nutritious. I am so confident that people will love them, I will eat the cardboard box they come in if they don't!"
Tasters can obtain a Kashi TLC Chewy Trail Mix granola bar by signing up at www.kashi.com, and after trying it, can vote that the bar was "quite tasty" or "tasted a lot like cardboard." For those who loved the bar but can't resist seeing Jeff eat the box anyway, they can choose "quite tasty but eat the box." The promotion runs from September 4 to September 26 or while supplies last.
"Our mission at Kashi is to create all-natural, delicious whole grain foods that help people to achieve their best lives," said Grogg. "We believe great taste doesn't have to be sacrificed in order to enjoy the benefits of nutritious foods, and this is a fun way to prove that point."
