Kadenwood strives to normalize CBD with Healist Advanced Naturals acquisition
25 Jun 2021 --- Kadenwood, a plant-based wellness company, has acquired UK-based cannabidiol (CBD) wellness brand Healist Advanced Naturals in a bid to help normalize CBD.
Healist uses formulas that help the body “reclaim its natural ability to heal and defend against the demands of modern life.”
The acquisition will help both companies expand swiftly, open up new retail and e-commerce distribution channels, and expand global access to plant-based wellness solutions.
“The partnership allows Kadenwood to expand access to trusted, high-quality plant-based wellness products for consumers globally and build consumer confidence in the industry,” Erick Dickens, CEO of Kadenwood, tells NutritonInsight.
“Our goal is to provide consumers with a variety of products that fit their unique needs. With the most recent acquisition of Healist, our premium portfolio has grown offering benefit-driven plant-based wellness solutions. This is the latest example of our efforts to shape CBD into a trusted and safe mainstream wellness category,” he continues.
The CBD products are available in consumable drops, gummies and capsules
Normalizing CBD
As COVID-19 has brought mental health into the spotlight, attitudes toward CBD are changing.
Riding this wave, Kadenwood is advancing its aim to normalize CBD through strategic collaborations and acquisitions.
“Kadenwood and Healist share a goal of democratizing access to powerful CBD solutions for their wellness goals and promoting a mainstream understanding of its benefits,” highlights Dickens.
“Kadenwood’s portfolio of brands set the standard for quality and trust as our production is vertically integrated, and we conduct the most rigorous lab testing on all of our products,” he adds.
Healist’s product portfolio focuses on four essential areas of benefit: calm, relief, sleep and well-being. Its products are all-natural, triple-lab tested, vegan, non-GMO and contain no THC.
Market expansion
Partnerships focusing on expanding the CBD market are on the rise, with Royal DSM forming a partnership with Mile High Labs, a cannabinoid ingredients manufacturer.
According to Innova Market Insights, there was a 93 percent average annual growth of F&B launches tracked with CBD between 2015 and 2019.
To add to this, Dickens highlights that “more consumers turn to plant-based solutions for their health and wellness. CBD is powerful and effective, and while it has skyrocketed in popularity, accessibility and awareness among mass consumers is still growing.”
“In the US, professional sports organizations are beginning to allow CBD use for the world’s most elite athletes, which shows that the industry has significant potential to expand its consumer base,” he adds.
Previously, industry highlighted that the CBD industry is determined to continue with new product development.
