Functional nutrition hits Asia market with Milestone Food for Your Genes launch in Singapore
05 Sep 2022 --- Singapore-based Of Dreams and Knowledge unveils a line of six biofunctional foods that it says can “help prevent chronic conditions and address a multitude of health concerns, including bacteria and viruses.” Furthermore, the company states that its new products may even help to slow the aging process.
The new products of the Milestone Food your Genes range, target the Asian market, aiming to positively impact the lives of Singaporeans and consumers across the continent.
“We want to expand on providing more holistic and innovative health solutions to consumers globally,” Darren Jerome Low, general manager, Of Dreams & Knowledge, tells NutritionInsight.
“We definitely have plans to bring functional nutrition to the rest of Asia and the Asia Pacific region.”
Focus on functionality
According to the company, its new line of liquid foods will bring nutrients to address varying needs and contribute with solutions. Vitamin B12 acts as a solution for mood
and energy, vitamin D3 boosts immunity, omega 3 aims at brain and heart health, and curcumin is anti-inflammatory.
The new food solutions are meant to provide specific nutrients to address specific needs.
For pregnant women, an antioxidant enriched solution will be available containing high levels of calcium, iron and potassium.
“In the Milestone Food for your Genes range of medical grade functional foods formulas, each presents a wide spectrum of health benefits,” says Low. “Such as promoting athletic performance and recovery and targeting the hormones in the body to regulate specific functions, beneficial for people with cardiovascular issues such as high blood pressure and cholesterol, diabetes.”
“The food ingredients are broken down in their entirety and will therefore be recognized by the body at the genetic and molecular level,” he continues. “The gene markers are turned on and off according to what an individual requires to achieve optimal balance and thus resulting in maximizing the self-healing and restorative process of the body.”
Food for the planet
The company also states that it is involved in the entire process “from farm to bottles,” saying that it gives protection and biodiversity of the environment top priority in its production practices by supporting organic farming and prohibiting the use of chemical and synthetic fertilizers. In this way, it says it intends to provide consumers with the purest ingredients and nutrients.
“Milestone Food for your Genes has been created to make vegan and plant-based functional nutrition accessible to people from all age groups and walks of life,” explains Low. “We endeavor to shift people’s mindset of addressing health problems with drugs and supplements as these suppress specific bodily functions to treat symptoms.”
