A vitamin pill may slow the mental decline of aging.
22/06/05 Consuming large amounts of folic acid could improve the memory of older adults, Dutch scientists reported Monday in the first study to show a vitamin pill may slow the mental decline of aging.
The research adds to the evidence that a diet higher in folate, a B vitamin found in grains and certain dark-colored fruits and vegetables, is important for a variety of diseases.
The folic acid protected users' brains, lead researcher Jane Durga of Wageningen University reported Monday at an Alzheimer's Association meeting.
