Evolva and Breko partner to distribute Veri-Te Resveratrol in Europe and Asia
15 Nov 2023 --- Natural molecule biotech company Evolva and food supplement supplier Breko have expanded their partnership through an exclusive distribution agreement to use Veri-Te Resveratrol in dietary supplements in Germany, Austria, Thailand and Vietnam.
“The synergies between Evolva and Breko will strengthen the expansion of the Veri-te brand, leading to more product launches and making Veri-te Resveratrol benefits and science available to consumers,” Anne De Vos, chief commercial officer at Evolva, tells Nutrition Insight.
“Recently, Breko supported Evolva in getting the approval of Veri-te Resveratrol in Thailand for use in dietary supplements and foods.”
The agreement underscores the potential of Veri-te Resveratrol as a powerful and sustainable high-quality ingredient for use in dietary supplements as well as for use in foods in select countries. The agreement broadens the existing long-term partnership by granting exclusivity to Breko and covering additional markets.
“We have already worked with Breko in Germany and Austria since 2017 and are now deepening the close relationship with Breko by granting exclusivity and expanding into the additional markets of Thailand and Vietnam where we see great potential,” says De Vos.
Health ingredients approval
Breko was instrumental in obtaining approval for Veri-te Resveratrol from the Thai Food and Drug Administration earlier this year. Veri-te Resveratrol is the main pillar of Evolva’s Health Ingredients business and was a key driver for that portfolio’s 14% revenue growth in the first half of 2023.
“Germany, Austria, Thailand, and Vietnam are key regions for the dietary supplement market segment. Although Germany and Austria are more mature and developed markets for dietary supplements, both companies expect further market development and expansion. Entering the Thai and Vietnamese markets will bring an exciting opportunity to boost Evolva’s Asian presence,” De Vos explains.
The partnership has amassed a compound annual revenue growth of more than 50% since its inception. The relationship is being formalized with the new agreement. The new agreement allows Veri-te Resveratrol to be used in supplements in several new regions.
“We are thrilled to have been granted exclusivity for this high-quality, researched and sustainable ingredient in our portfolio covering Germany, Austria, Thailand and Vietnam. We look forward to broadening the already successful partnership with Evolva,” says Wolfgang Loersch, VP of ingredients at Breko.
Multi-functional ingredient
In other industry news, Evolva and Lehvoss Group Nutritional Division signed a distribution agreement involving Veri-te Resveratrol for dietary supplements. The deal is expected to generate roughly CHF 1.5 million (US$1.6 million) in sales by its conclusion in 2025.
“Veri-te Resveratrol is a responsible multi-functional ingredient with proven health benefits supported by several clinical studies. We expect our partner Breko to develop the business in these four countries considerably over the coming years,” says De Vos.
