Enzymotec and Life EXTENSION team up on the SharpPS gold
Life Extension's premiere cognitive health formula now contains Enzymotec's new release: SharpPS gold, based on its extensive positive clinical research and biological soundness.
12/04/06 Israelian biotech company Enzymotec and Life Extension have announced the launch of an improved brain formula called: Cognitex.
Cognitex, first introduced in 2000, has since been reformulated numerous times to take advantage of the latest novel ingredients that have been proven by scientific studies to enhance cognitive function. Life Extension's premiere cognitive health formula now contains Enzymotec's new release: SharpPS gold, based on its extensive positive clinical research and biological soundness.
PhosphatidylSerine and DHA have long been associated with proper cognitive functioning and their presence or absence is strongly correlated to proper mental development and functioning. SharpPS gold is a PS-DHA conjugate, which follows the natural PS structure found in the human brain and emulates the historical compound originally extracted from bovine brain.
"Its unique composition enables a potent biofunctionality and DHA/PS synergy, which translates into a significant cognitive improvement, compared to any other alternative such as: "regular" DHA or PS", says an Enzymotec source.
According to the US census bureau, there are more than 60 million Americans over the age of 55, which is 22% of the population. Similar figures exist in other western countries. Aging has long been associated with mental and cognitive decline.
Moreover, age-related illnesses are associated with a sharp, irreversible decrease of mental and cognitive capabilities, which affects the quality of life of a person as well as the people that surrounds them. For some time it has been the focus of major products launched including those of functional foods, with Omega 3. Industry sources estimate current US cognitive market at around $350 Million.
