EAS Workshop to Clarify Regulations for Launching Food Supplements in Europe and Latin America
The workshop, which will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 12 July, will cover regulatory opportunities and challenges for food supplement products in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Venezuela, as well as EU regulations such as novel food requirements, maximum levels of vitamins and minerals, other ingredients including botanicals, mutual recognition principles and health claims rules.
11 July 2012 --- International food policy experts EAS will guide food supplement companies through the regulations for launching products in Latin America and Europe at a workshop next week.
The workshop, which will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 12 July, will cover regulatory opportunities and challenges for food supplement products in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Venezuela, as well as EU regulations such as novel food requirements, maximum levels of vitamins and minerals, other ingredients including botanicals, mutual recognition principles and health claims rules.
It will be hosted by EAS experts David Pineda Ereño, Ainhoa Larrañaga and Elodie Lebastard, with special guest speaker Carlos Gouvêa, President of the Brazilian Association of Foods for Special Uses Industry (ABIAD), who will advise companies on the key challenges and opportunities in bringing food supplements into Brazil.
