DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Receives USDA BioPreferred Label for Zemea

The USDA approval adds to the growing list of independent certifications for Zemea, which has also been recognized by Ecocert and the Natural Products Association as an ingredient of natural origin.

Aug 4 2011 --- DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products announced that its renewably sourced Zemea propanediol has been reviewed and certified by the USDA as a 100% biobased ingredient. Companies seeking to develop biobased formulations can be confident that Zemea will add to the overall biobased content of their products.

Zemea is a natural ingredient developed for use in cosmetics, personal care and home cleaning products. It is a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols where the product’s lack of skin irritation, improved moisturization and excellent sensorial attributes are benefits. The USDA approval adds to the growing list of independent certifications for Zemea, which has also been recognized by Ecocert and the Natural Products Association as an ingredient of natural origin.
