Dr.Vegan debuts plant-based menopause supplement across Waitrose UK
Dr.Vegan has debuted its MenoFriend menopause supplement in 53 Waitrose stores and online.
The plant-based MenoFriend aims to provide a “cleaner,” more accessible solution for menopause support.
This launch aligns with the growing global trend of women using supplements to manage menopause symptoms.
Supplement brand Dr.Vegan has launched in the UK supermarket Waitrose, debuting its menopause formula, MenoFriend, across 53 Waitrose stores and online. The new listing follows the brand’s reported retail growth, with sales up 33% year-on-year.
The company markets MenoFriend as a naturally sourced, plant-based solution for menopause support.
The announcement builds on the nationwide launch of other Dr.Vegan formulas on Waitrose last year, namely Magnesium and Curcumin & Turmeric.
Since its founding in July 2020, Dr.Vegan has launched over 35 new supplements in gut health, women’s and men’s health, mental well-being, stress, hair, skin, sleep, muscle and joint health, immunity, longevity, and hydration.
“We’re incredibly proud that our vegan-friendly menopause supplement MenoFriend will now be available to consumers through Waitrose. Menopause is a hugely important stage in life that deserves better, more effective, and cleaner solutions — free from hidden ingredients and unnecessary additives,” says Dr.Vegan co-founder Gordon Lott.

“Since founding Dr.Vegan, our mission has been to empower people with comprehensive supplements that really work and are kinder to the planet. This listing is a big step in making effective menopause support more accessible, and we’re excited to bring MenoFriend to Waitrose customers nationwide.”
Earlier this year, Dr. Vegan launched its “Gut Punch” campaign in the UK, which was intended to raise awareness around growing gut health problems among British consumers while offering actionable tools. A brand survey also flagged that a growing majority expect local healthcare practitioners to be trained in personalized nutrition.
Supplementing menopause
Innova Market Insights research reveals that over one-third of global female consumers this year are using vitamin and mineral supplements to address the symptoms of their natural hormonal cycles or menopause.
The global market researcher highlights that specialized ingredient selection features prominently. Certain botanicals are more prevalent in menopause-related new product development than in the broader category. In May, Innova Market Insights data approximated that one in six women’s health supplements mention menopause.
Solutions in this category mainly target hot flashes and mood imbalances. Prominent ingredients include dong quai root, red clover, sage, and black cohosh.
Meanwhile, science-backed postbiotics and nutrients like Lactobacillus gasseri CP2305, Quatrefolic folate, and vitamin K2 have gained recognition this year for supporting better menopause outcomes, ranging from better sleep and reduced stress to stronger bones and fewer hot flashes.
