Cyvex Nutrition Launches Weight Management Ingredient
The company's newest vegetable-sourced offering contains no added compounds and features more than 90 percent protein, PI-2 included, to promote optimized satiety and healthful, effective weight control.
3/8/2011 --- Cyvex Nutrition has announced the launch of its branded weight management ingredient SolaThin, a pure potato protein extract consisting of several low molecular weight proteins, including protease inhibitor PI-2. The company's newest vegetable-sourced offering contains no added compounds and features more than 90 percent protein, PI-2 included, to promote optimized satiety and healthful, effective weight control.
PI-2 enables the release of cholecystokinin (CKK), a naturally occurring peptide clinically shown to produce a feeling of gastric fullness, and thus can help reduce food consumption up to 20 percent in reported results. Highly stable and exceptionally active, SolaThin's composition is unique in that it contains more than 90 percent protein content to promote a greater sense of satiety, a vast improvement over existing PI-2 offerings. As with all Cyvex ingredients, GMO-free SolaThin undergoes rigorous identity testing and third-party certification to assure a safe, pure and highly bioavailable end product.
"For three decades, Cyvex has been supplying high-quality, efficacious fruit and vegetable ingredients to address a wide range of health conditions. With approximately 60 million U.S. adults considered to be overweight, SolaThin provides manufacturers with 20 years of university-affiliated research that confirms its ability to safely promote weight loss with no observable side effects," said Matt Phillips, president and CEO of Cyvex Nutrition. "SolaThin's nutritional makeup provides a superior, vegetable-based protein source to further curb appetite without the use of weight loss stimulants."
