In line with the platform launch, the company is unveiling Biotis GOS as a leading ingredient within its gut health range.

This is Benjamin Ferreir on behalf of Food Ingredients First and Nutrition Insight.

I'm joined here today by Vicky Davies, and she is the global marketing director of Performance and active nutrition at Friesling and Peanut.

Vicky is here today to tell us a bit about the company's new platform launch, and this is centered on gut health and prebiotics.

Vicky, could you tell us a bit about this platform?

Yeah, sure, thanks, Benjamin.

Next week we're launching a new health benefits platform called Biois.

We're doing this within freezing Cainut ingredients to really tap into the consumer needs that we see in the marketplace around specific health benefits.

So the launch of Biois will focus indeed on the benefit area of gut health initially.

But we also launched the platform with a bit more all-encompassing health benefits such as immune health, sleep health and also maternal health.

Overall what we want to do is offer customers the opportunity to tap into these health benefits that consumers are looking for.

Yes, and so in line with your platform launch, you've also debuted this new ingredient, biotis Goss.

What are some of the functionalities of this ingredient and how does it differ from similar products on the market?

Yeah, we are, we're launching Botis Goss as the, the leading ingredient within the range focused on, gut health benefits.

Goss is, an ingredient that we have a long heritage with.

And what we're doing is translating the knowledge and functionality that we have for this ingredient within early life nutrition into more the adult nutrition segments which can Benefit brand owners in this space.

The ingredient is is unique to us as.

It's got a lot of scientific evidence behind it and it's got specific characteristics that are unique to this type of goss which is a prebiotic fiber in in total.

It's got unique functionality.

It's very heat stable, it's very diverse, in terms of use that you can have for applications.

So compared to other similar ingredients that you find on the market, this one can really offer versatility and how it can be applied to different formats that the consumers are looking for.

And could you please detail some of the some of the research that went into this new ingredient?

What are some studies that have backed its efficacies?

Yeah, that's a great question.

So we're focusing indeed on the area of gut health.

So specific digestive health benefits that we've been investigating first are centered around bloating.

Constipation and IBS symptoms.

And we've been researching over the last number of years, the effect that this ingredient biotis guss can have on these symptoms in adults.

So we have a range of studies from the last kind of 3 to 4 years looking specifically at these these areas that we just mentioned.

And the bifitogenic effect, so promoting the growth of bifidobacteria in the gut is one of the key modes of action of of GOs by Otis Goss.

And so we've spent quite some time researching that.

We have some published papers in the area as , which, which we can share.

But what we're also doing is a number of consumer studies and studies with universities in partnership so that we can even further detail out and build a body of evidence around bioisgus.

And of course, when you say gut health, what comes to mind is immediately the food and beverage space.

What are some of the applications of this ingredient in the F&B arena?

Yeah, it's very diverse, as I said, because of the unique structure and functionality of the ingredients.

So it comes in both powder and liquid form, a syrup form, which means that it's very applicable.

Some of the key application suggestions that we are launching with are from bars through to ready to drink formats such as like prebiotic protein water.

But also, bars and snacks, for example, where we see that the consumer trend of convenience and on the grow is leading.

And so we offer them to brand owners the opportunity to really tap into various different formats that can can go across the breadth of the food and drinks industry.

Very interesting.

We know that the market for functional ingredients is diversifying very quickly.

Can you comment on what potential, what, what, what categories are seeing the most potential and what is your future outlook for the space?

Yeah, that's that that's great.

I see related to to what I just mentioned on the the consumer trends that you see, which is convenience on the go and and even in the the environment that we're in at the moment.

These are still key , formats that people are looking for, formats that will fit into this type of lifestyle.

So drinks, beverages from, water beverages, health related beverages, and more also the kind of compact and more shots format is is very very popular at the moment.

But we also see that it's really the healthier for you, formats that that are being looked for.

So you even find yogurt or indeed kind of bite size snacks that people can consume on the go.

So those are the type of, yeah, formats that we're promoting.

Very interesting.

Thank you very much, Vicky.

No problem.

Thanks a lot, Benjamin.
