Taha debuts whey protein and colostrum supplements in the US
19 Jun 2024 --- Functional dairy protein brand Taha enters the US market, debuting its whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, body and mind protein blend and colostrum. The company was launched this year, offering protein products based on pasture-raised dairy from New Zealand.
“We created Taha because we saw a gap in the protein space for sustainable, functional products made with grass-fed dairy protein and natural ingredients and flavors. Our top-quality protein comes from New Zealand and is chosen by dairy experts for its simplicity and purity,” says Kristen Kettle, VP of operations at Taha.
With this move, Taha will provide US consumers with nutritional supplements, certified Net Carbon Zero Toitu of New Zealand and made with clinically researched functional ingredients.
Protein priming
The company’s flagship products are available in chocolate, vanilla, berry, mocha and natural flavors. The body and mind protein blend comes in German chocolate, Madagascan vanilla and natural. The high immunoglobulin G colostrum is undiluted and in its natural form.
The protein products combine ingredients for mind and body support such as Nutiani milk phospholipids for cognitive health, Verisol collagen for skin, hair and nails and high-purity dairy proteins for muscle health.
Meanwhile, FrieslandCampina Ingredients has created a heat-stable whey protein ingredient — Nutri Whey ProHeat — using microparticulation technology. Most whey proteins are irreversibly denatured during traditional heat treatments. The new ingredient can be added to medical nutrition products to provide a nutrient-dense liquid formulation with low viscosity, neutral pH, good drinkability and a clean taste.
Residue tested
All Taha’s products are tested to ensure there is no glyphosate residue or gluten. They are free from hormones, antibiotics and genetically modified organisms. The products undergo a rigorous Net Carbon Zero process that evaluates all ingredients and packaging from origin through to consumption and disposal.
“Our goal is to provide consumers with a range of protein products that support the lives they’re already living. Whether they are athletes or self-care enthusiasts, we have something for everyone,” says Naomi Walgren, marketing manager of Taha.
In other industry developments, Arla Foods Ingredients offers a line of whey proteins based on a patented microparticulation technology to meet the growing consumer demand for protein quality. Branded as Nutrilac ProteinBoost, the product was created to meet the needs of health-conscious consumers and manufacturers.
