Syral to Highlight Study on Role of Actilight in Infant Formula
SYRAL will also promote its new soluble wheat protein MERIPRO. This highly soluble and digestible vegetable protein is convenient for the protein enrichment of a large variety of foodstuffs designed for weight management and sports nutrition.
27/03/09 SYRAL will focus on its prebiotic fibre ACTILIGHT (fructo-oligosaccharides), used in both functional foods and dietary supplements for its health benefits at the Vitafoods exhibition. SYRAL recently launched a new clinical study to validate in infants the beneficial effects of this fibre which is already used in infant formulae. The multicentric study will involve infants from 4 to 10 months using follow-on formulae supplemented with FOS at 5g/L. It will contribute to the knowledge of the prebiotic efficiency of ACTILIGHT, which is already supported by numerous clinical studies and recognised by the French authorities since 1997.
SYRAL will also promote its new soluble wheat protein MERIPRO. This highly soluble and digestible vegetable protein is convenient for the protein enrichment of a large variety of foodstuffs designed for weight management and sports nutrition, such as meal substitutes, cereal bars or isotonic drinks. High proteins diets have been proven to be efficient to lose weight and avoid secondary weight gain, compared to other popular diets. This is notably due to the positive effect of proteins on satiety, as proven by different studies in rats and humans.
For the health and nutrition market, SYRAL is also a major supplier of polyols (sorbitol and maltitol) and maltodextrins, largely used as excipients in food supplements and pharmaceuticals.
SYRAL will be present at the VITAFOODS exhibition in Geneva, stand 328.
