Olive Leaf has Blood Pressure Lowering Effect
A clinical trial carried out in Germany with twins has confirmed the blood pressure reducing effect of Frutarom’s Olive Leaf special extract, EFLA 943.
08/11/05 EFLA 943 Frutarom’s special olive leaf extract is the first herbal extract whose blood pressure reducing benefits has been proven in a clinical trial. The trial, carried out in Germany across a period of 8 weeks, involved monozygotic twins with slightly higher blood pressure receiving a daily dose of 500 – 1,000mg of EFLA 943. The results confirmed a dosage-dependent blood pressure reduction, with maximum values amounting to decreases by 19 mmHg systolic and 10 mmHg diastolic respectively. The study also proved there was the additional benefit of LDL cholesterol reduction. Moreover, the strongly anti-oxidative olive leaf special extract showed no evidence of side effects and tolerance was extremely high.
