Nutrisystem brings “social support and accountability” to couples’ weight loss meal plan
09 Sep 2020 --- Losing weight is easier with a partner, which has prompted Nutrisystem to launch Nutrisystem Partner Plan. The meal subscription program is designed to enable two people living in the same household to support each other on a shared weight loss journey.
The Nutrisystem Partner Plan provides coupled-up customers with a shipment of meals and snacks every two weeks. The program also provides free access to the NuMi app, unlimited support with Nutrisystem weight loss counselors and dietitians by phone or online any day of the week, and free shipping.
“We are less likely to stay on a weight loss program when we feel like we’re all alone. Having a built-in support system at home means you’ll be able to motivate and celebrate each other as you hit goals,” says Tommy Lewis, President of Nutrisystem.
Personalized nutrition meets digital solutions
Nutrisystem, a Tivity Health brand, states its plan ensures a balanced blend of nutrients, lean protein, high fiber, low-glycemic carbohydrates and does not contain artificial sweeteners or flavors.
Specific dietary needs can be customized into the individual programs to include diabetes-friendly or vegetarian foods, for example, or to exclude foods that contain milk, wheat or nuts. The brand’s team of weight loss counselors can further provide guidance on selecting foods that work for both partners’ needs.
These commitments are based on the brand’s Food and Nutrition Mission, which avoids artificial flavors and sweeteners, artificial coloring, high fructose corn syrup and artificial trans fats. The brand states it strives to provide customers with fresher foods, cleaner labels and increased transparency in its ingredients.
The personalization trend is taking off in the weight management sector. Industry, consumers and academia alike are coming to the consensus that the conventional one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and weight management is outdated.
Moreover, digital solutions to personalized nutrition plans are particularly popular with younger generations who seek “added value” to their weight management approaches.
Ultimately, the trick to facilitating weight loss is social support and accountability, Nutrisystem highlights. “In today’s climate, it is more important than ever for our health to connect with and lean on the strength of loved ones,” Lewis concludes.
