NutrifyGenie advances ingredient discovery and sets new dietary supplement ISO standard
20 Aug 2024 --- India-based NutrifyGenie has produced 12 commercialized natural products leveraging its multi-layered AI, which integrates more than 3.5 million curated data points from biochemistry, botanicals and regulatory guidelines. Product development is significantly streamlined using a library with information on more than 10,000 ingredients.
“NutrifyGenie continues to set the bar for new product ideation, development and commercialization. Through NutrifyGenie, we are committed to enhancing the supply chain to improve the dietary supplement landscape,” says Amit Srivastav, founder of Nutrify Today, the parent company of the NutrifyGenie brand and chief catalyst of Nutrify India.
With the new capability, NutrifyGenie will roll out a new wave of supplement portfolios for 2024-25 in key markets worldwide, including the Philippines, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, India, Saudi Arabia and the US.
ISO certification standards
The company has set new standards in the dietary supplements segment, being the first AI platform to earn International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification for new product development. NutrifyGenie is working to obtain additional advanced certifications.
The platform recently showcased its capability to discover 2,700 Ayurvedic plants and their bioactives at the International Congress on Natural Products Research in Poland. Its AI was critical to developing Cepham’s branded ingredient, SheVari4, for women’s health and well-being.
“Our biggest challenge in the industry is to create differentiated products using the most economical budgets and the quickest turnaround time. There is no other way to foster this process without first using AI, along with your imagination, so that we can essentially create more value for this market,” says Anand Swaroop, founder and president of Cepham.
The platform integrates regulatory information from 6,000 approved ingredients from 11 countries and toxicology and intellectual property data points.
Speed to market
NutrifyGenie AI shortens the timeline from idea to market to nine months by applying artificial neural networks to predict ingredient pathways and machine learning to assess synergies. The company aims to shorten the timeline to 90 days in the next two years.
NutrifyGenie AI has developed differentiated products for industry leaders like Jubilant Generics and Esperer Nutrition.
Meanwhile, as the interest in AI spreads, the nutrition industry is pondering its potential, from nutrition advice to the large-scale incorporation of AI in companies to advance R&D and product development.
We discussed the use and several applications of this technology with PIPA — a science and innovation company that leverages AI for nutrition and ingredient industries — and Brightseed, which uses its AI platform Forager to identify bioactives and their health benefits.
In addition, new research into the consistency and accuracy of the open AI chatbots ChatGPT-3.5 and ChatGPT-4 in providing personalized nutrition information has shown promising results rivaling advice offered by real-life nutritionists. Experts call for nutritionists to educate themselves on AI to facilitate access to nutritional advice while countering misinformation.
