Non-GMO Project Verification for Taiyo’s Matcha Powder
03 Nov 2016 --- Taiyo’s USDA certified organic Matcha Powder has been Non-GMO Project Verified.
The powder, which can be used as a unique refreshing flavor in beverages, dairy products and confections, is prepared under carefully controlled low temperatures in a GMP and FSSC Certified quality facility using only the highest quality pesticide-controlled leaves to assure compliance with stringent U.S. FDA residual pesticide regulations for tea.
When treated with care, Matcha is a rich source of polyphenols, vitamins, minerals, fibers, chlorophyll and L-theanine.
“We are proud to achieve Non-GMO Project Verification, which validates our Matcha Powder’s quality and the integrity of our supply chain,” says Scott Smith, vice president of Taiyo International.
“This confirms that Taiyo’s Matcha Powder is produced in compliance with rigorous best practices for GMO avoidance, including segregation and traceability to prevent contamination,” Smith adds.
“We chose to get Taiyo’s Matcha Powder Non-GMO Project Verified because we respect people’s right to know what is in their food and dietary supplements,” continues Smith, adding, “We believe this verification offers the highest transparency about GMOs.”
Smith adds, “We were excited to achieve Non-GMO Project Verification for Taiyo’s Matcha Powder as another benefit / competitive advantage for our customers.”
“Taiyo is eager to assist all of its customers interested in using this Verification in their product labeling and marketing to get their product certified as well.”
