MindScopic eyes anti-aging nootropic market following new funding
10 Aug 2021 --- MindScopic has closed a second seed funding round for its nootropic and natural supplement range. The Netherlands-based company has not disclosed the financial details or the investor’s identity other than that it is a Belgium-based fund focusing on space-tech, bio-tech and food-tech.
The new capital will be used for research at leading European universities, strengthening the team and new product developments.
“We are developing an over-the-counter Longevity Elixir that will be second to none in the market of anti-aging,” Koen Indesteege, founder of MindScopic, tells NutritionInsight.
The company is currently active in the EU and Russia, aiming for US expansion in the “near future.” The company also doubled its turnover last year.
Natural brain support
MindScopic focuses on nootropics that include herbs, amino acids and vitamins that support the optimal functioning of the brain in a natural way.
The company notes that nootropics can regulate the functioning of the nervous system and help to stabilize mood. This leads to, among other things, less stress or mental fatigue, improved mood, and a better quality of sleep.
Nootropics are used by a broad range of people, with the majority of the company’s clientele being entrepreneurs, top athletes, students and health enthusiasts. It notes that nootropics are also starting to attract people with busy lifestyles who want to put their health first.
“Since COVID-19, we’ve noticed that nootropics have become more mainstream. People want to support their brain in a natural and healthy way with our product range,” adds Indesteege.

Unlocking focus
All of MindScopic’s products are vegan, GMO-free, produced in a GMP-certified environment and based on scientific research.
“The R&D process can take up to a year for one product. Due to this strict standard, we are at the top of the food supplement industry,” says Indesteege.
MindScopic’s flagship product is Clear Focus, which improves mental performance, such as focus, memory and motivation. The main ingredient is Bacopa monnieri, an Ayurvedic herb that improves processing speed, memory and learning ability.
It has been shown to stimulate protein synthesis in the hippocampus, which is the part of the brain that plays an important role in long-term memory retention.
Clear Focus also contains Rhodiola rosea extract, L-theanine, caffeine, CDP-choline (citicoline), co-enzyme NADH, piperine extract, and vitamins B3, B12 and B5.
Targeting mood and sleep
MindScopic addresses stress reduction and mood improvement specifically via MoodMaster, which features ashwagandha, Griffonia simplicifolia, valerian root extract, L-tryptophan, magnesium, piperine extract, and vitamins B1, B6, B3 and D3.
Finally, Sleepwell targets better rest. It’s formatted as an oral spray for fast sublingual absorption and is marketed as reducing the time required to fall asleep. It includes chamomile, passionflower, lemon balm, Avena sativa and melatonin.
Sleep and relaxation have been major themes throughout the year as COVID-19 exacerbates issues in this space.
Adaptogens are also proving popular, with a recent Special Report spotlighting functional F&B applications.
