Fortitech Asia Pacific Achieves ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP Recertification
In addition to maintaining top-notch quality standards, Fortitech Asia Pacific also investing resources to grow business and improve service by constructing a brand new manufacturing and laboratory facility outside of Kuala Lumpur.
19/09/07 Fortitech Asia Pacific has achieved ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP recertification. The ISO certification process was undertaken by National Quality Assurance (NQA) USA and HACCP certification process by the Food Quality Control Division of the Malaysia Ministry of Health. To successfully achieve this recertification, Fortitech Asia Pacific had to demonstrate its continuous commitment of exceeding and improving its already strict quality standards.
“Utmost safety and quality are the key standards that Fortitech bases its reputation upon on a global scale,” said Mae Ng, Fortitech Asia Pacific General Manager. “Everyone at Fortitech Asia Pacific works extremely hard to learn, understand and practice good management principles, and food safety which are embodied in ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP.”
International Organization for Standardization (ISO), based in Geneva, Switzerland, is a globally-recognized quality standard that enables the development, manufacturing and supply of products and services to be more efficient and safe. ISO standards also provide governments with a technical base for health, safety and environmental legislation.
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point, (HACCP) is a food safety program that involves seven strict principles: hazard analysis, critical control point identification, preventive measures with critical limits for each control point, procedures to monitor the critical control points, corrective action establishment when monitoring shows that a critical limit has not been met, procedures to verify that the system is working properly and effective recordkeeping to document the HACCP system.

The new Asian facility is expected to be completed sometime in 2008. Other global expansion efforts include construction of a new manufacturing and laboratory facility in Fontana, California; relocation of a larger distribution office in Mexico City and the addition of 35,000 square feet of warehouse/manufacturing space at Fortitech’s New York-based headquarter facility.
