FiE 2024 live: Prinova debuts “Good for You” F&B concepts and innovative pre-workout ingredient
Prinova is showcasing new product concepts developed to address current mega-trends in food and nutrition at this year’s Food ingredients Europe (FiE) 2024 trade show in Frankfurt, Germany (November 19–21). After a year of comprehensive market research, the company states it has crafted a “Good for You” range that taps into consumer-driven demands for healthier food choices along with a new pre-workout ingredient.
These products are designed not only to meet health needs but also to fit seamlessly into consumers’ daily lives. Good Guts, a lemon ginger tea by Prinova, boosts digestive and immune health with prebiotics like Aquamin and inulin, plus L-Glutamine, vitamins and minerals. Good Mind by Prinova targets cognitive well-being with a cherry-grapefruit drink containing natural caffeine, vitamins and minerals for enhanced focus.
Good Game promotes healthier drink choices with its rejuvenating kiwi lime blend, Workout Cookies blend botanicals for enhanced recovery and endurance and Gaming Gummies boost focus, memory and attention with nootropics like L-Tyrosine, taurine and caffeine.
“We’ve carried out a lot of bespoke consumer research to identify the big themes that will shape the market in 2025,” James Street, global marketing director at Prinova, tells Nutrition Insight on the show floor. “The other part of the equation — and a really exciting one for us — is sharing ideas for ways to tap into them.”
“Our research has shown that consumers are looking for nutritional ‘hacks’ in areas like cognitive performance and emotional well-being, so one of our concepts is a beverage that offers clean and sustained alertness without the jitters. It’s based on research-backed ingredients associated with improved concentration and cognitive function, including vitamins, minerals and natural caffeine from green coffee beans.”
Addressing the latest trends
Street points out that these concepts meet prevailing consumer trends. For instance, he states that Good Game caters to “sober-curious” young consumers seeking innovative, healthy beverages to replace alcohol.
James Street, global marketing director at Prinova.“FiE is going to see the European debut for our one-of-a-kind pre-workout ingredient, CitraPeak,” Street underscores. “It’s the first 100% soluble form of hesperidin — a flavonoid that occurs naturally in citrus fruits.”
“The hesperidin is bonded to tapioca starch, making it highly soluble and bioavailable and allowing rapid activation. The benefits of CitraPeak include increased physical output and thermogenic effect and are supported by a range of published clinical studies.”
Additionally, Street points out that, in the sports nutrition arena, Prinova’s studies show that today’s consumers want more than just protein — they are drawn to previously unconventional athletic ingredients like botanicals. He states that concepts, such as Workout Cookies, include a mix of pomegranate, Panax ginseng root and lychee extracts to aid recovery, reduce oxidative stress and increase endurance.
“Finally, we have a concept for gamers — a segment that is increasingly demanding new nutrition solutions,” Street highlights. “They’re not just looking to improve their reaction times, but also recognizing the impact that intense gaming sessions can have on their physical and mental performance. Containing L-Tyrosine, taurine and natural caffeine, our gummies are designed to address focus, memory and attention.”

Street also notes that consumers, especially those from generations Y and Z, are both influenced by and skeptical of product claims. He explains that Prinova’s robust research supports its products and allows the company to provide honest and effective communication of health benefits.
“Aquamin, which features in our ‘Good Guts’ concept, is a range of plant-based marine multimineral complex products, including calcium magnesium and 72 other trace marine minerals,” Street concludes. “Over 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications support its benefits in areas like muscle and cardiovascular health, as well as digestive health.”
“Look out for new Prinova research next year. It’ll explore the growing demand for products with a ‘real food’ positioning and provide new insights into changing attitudes to ingredients like fat and dairy.”
