ETS Laboratories Includes Resveratrol Content in Measuring Healthful Antioxidants in Wine
The ETS analysis measures total antioxidants plus the specific concentrations of resveratrol, quercetin, catechin and tannin. Currently, the health contributions of red wine are typically referenced in generalized terms.
07/11/06 ETS Laboratories has developed a new analytical tool for wineries interested in measuring healthful antioxidants in their wine. The ETS analysis quantifies the primary antioxidants associated with the widely accepted belief that moderate wine consumption can promote good health. This recognition has provided significant benefits to the wine industry including increased consumption of red wines.
The ETS analysis measures total antioxidants plus the specific concentrations of resveratrol, quercetin, catechin and tannin. Currently, the health contributions of red wine are typically referenced in generalized terms. Gordon Burns, President of ETS Laboratories, feels that this new analytical tool offers winemakers the opportunity to demonstrate specific, healthful antioxidant concentrations within individual red wines.
