Embria Health Sciences Receives Coveted NSF Certification
Once NSF completes the GMP registration certification process, the manufacturer is authorized to use the NSF mark on or in connection with the sale, use, or distribution of that product.
Nov 4 2011 --- Embria Health Sciences, manufacturer of the immune-balancing ingredient EpiCor, is announcing its recent National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) GMP registration certification.
Before this certification could be awarded, the Iowa-based ingredient supplier’s manufacturing process was reviewed by an NSF auditor and found to meet current GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines.
Dr. Larry Robinson, Embria vice president of scientific affairs, believes this will make EpiCor an even more-trusted source in the eyes of manufacturers looking to set themselves apart by choosing ingredients that are subjected to stringent protocols. “This adds tremendous value to Embria Health Sciences and its manufacturing partners,” said Robinson. “Combined with the large body of clinical studies demonstrating EpiCor’s ability to help the body maintain immune balance, the NSF certification indicates we’ve raised the bar, giving our partners the confidence they need to take a quality product to market.”
Gayle Kittelson, Embria quality research scientist, concurs. “While Embria is not required to have this certification, we believe it’s an important added benefit that will help manufacturers comply with FDA requirements for supplier qualification.”
Once NSF completes the GMP registration certification process, the manufacturer is authorized to use the NSF mark on or in connection with the sale, use, or distribution of that product. The mark validates that an independent, third-party organization has confirmed Embria’s compliance to recommended GMP standards for dietary supplements.
