The FSAI’s positive opinion will now be reviewed by the other Member States, who will formulate an overall European Opinion. If this also confirms that Clarinol CLA poses no health or safety risks, the ingredient should receive final approval for use in EU food products.
Kluifhooft: “We trust that the other Member States working alongside the European Commission will support and endorse the Irish positive opinion. This is sometimes a complex procedure, however we are confident that European approval will follow in the near future for Clarinol CLA”.
