Celesta and Nurish team up to unveil new line of sleep aid relaxation beverages
22 Jun 2022 --- Celesta Company and Nurish Brands are partnering to launch a line of functional beverages targeting sleep and relaxation.
“The increased pressures in today’s society have consumers seeking solutions to improve relaxation and sleep,” says Dave Lafond, Celesta CEO. The launch will expand Nurish’s Feel portfolio and will be offered alongside their growing list of functional beverages.
The new drinks will use
Celesta's proprietary blend of sleep and relaxation enhancement ingredients, SlumberMor and RnRMor. Both are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the company notes.Proving their point
By targeting multiple aspects of sleep as opposed to only targeting one, product efficacy is greatly improved, Celesta explains, citing a recent proof-of-concept clinical trial.
Attempting to differentiate from many of the sleep and relaxation ingredients on the market which are “single-ingredient remedies,” the company says it has
developed proprietary ingredient blends that target multiple – yet specific – pathways to overall wellness.
These include sleep induction, sleep duration, stress reduction, body recovery and mood stabilization.
The trial measured brain signals and also utilized a participant questionnaire, which Lafond says allowed them to test both the objective and subjective effects of the new drinks.
“The ingredients showed significant improvements in sleep quality without being habit-forming or causing grogginess,” states Lafond.
A growing market
A recent report by Innova Market Insights shows that 52% of consumers believe that getting good sleep is the most important thing they can do to maintain their health. Furthermore, an additional 47% stated they had recently sought to improve their sleep habits in the last 12 months.
Still, other studies revealed that one of the unforeseen effects of the COVID-19 pandemic is that some people may have grown more introspective as concerns their health. This resulted in a 37% increase in google searches for the words “sleep supplement” in 2021.
Next steps
The partnership strives toward a common goal of “reducing stress and increasing quality sleep for consumers,” explains Brian Turner, CEO of Nurish.
The companies underscore that more details on the products and their availability will be announced later this year. “Together, we will better serve our customers in providing options that improve overall health and wellness,” says Turner.
