15 Jun 2016 --- Danish company Bifodan A/S, a partner in probiotic finished solutions for the private label industry, has announced the significant expansion of their manufacturing capacity and capabilities.
In support of the recent expansion of their sales reach, Copenhagen-based Bifodan has made a significant investment in expansion of manufacturing capabilities, capacity and technology reach.
This news follows Bifodan’s announcement of a significant expansion of its global operations earlier this year (as reported by NutritionInsight on 18 May 2016).
The manufacturing capacity for powders, capsules, tablets and sticks will be increased to satisfy the growing demand for stable and viable turn-key probiotic solutions. Additional state-of-the-art equipment will also be installed to support manufacturing of new product formulations and packaging solutions.
The investment is an integral part of Biofadan’s long term strategy, as President and CEO Steen Andersen explains:
“Driven by unprecedented growth in the global market for probiotic nutritional supplements, Bifodan is anticipating continued double-digit growth over the coming years.”
“In preparation for this opportunity, Bifodan is gradually expanding our manufacturing facilities, both in terms of capacity and technology.”
Nancy Eben Fonskov, VP of Production at Biofadan, adds: “Not only do we experience significant increase in demand from the market when it comes to quality, supply security and reliability; our ambition to offer state-of-the-art, unique and competitive product solutions requires the most advanced manufacturing processes to protect the probiotic bacteria during the process and on the shelves.”
Bifodan manufacturing facilities are approved by NSF and recently inspected by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
