Antioxidant Blend Shows Benefits on Skin Radiance
06 Apr 2015 --- ACTIV’INSIDE will present in exclusivity at the Vitafoods Europe 2015 the first results of its recent clinical trial. Its formulation – called SkinAx² – shows beneficial effects on skin radiance. SkinAx² is a synergic innovative association of both primary and secondary antioxidants from botanical sources.
The 8 weeks clinical trial has evaluated the effect of a daily oral dose of 150 mg of SkinAx² on healthy women with dull complexion. Women were aged between 40 to 70 years old.
SkinAx² is a synergic association of 4 natural active compounds: flavanols monomers from French grape seeds, SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) form French melon juice, zinc and vitamin C. Ingredients of SkinAx² have carefully been selected and associated for optimal skin radiance efficiency. The choice is based on an extensive bibliographical research concerning the mechanism of action, active dosage, bioavailability and bioactivity of each compound.
The objective of the study was to “evaluate the effect of a daily dose of SkinAx² on skin radiance of healthy volunteers with dull complexion”. The 8 weeks clinical trial included 13 clinical parameters and 8 self-assessment questions. The clinical scoring of the skin radiance was the principal criterion, measured by CLBT (Color, Luminosity, Brightness, Transparency) and heterogeneity of the complexion tests. The study, led by Activ’Inside, was conducted in France.
SkinAx² shows beneficial effects on skin radiance. After 8 weeks of supplementation, SkinAx² improves the color and the luminosity of the skin of women with dull complexion.
SkinAx² also improves the complexion homogeneity by decreasing important factors of heterogeneity, such as dark circles, redness or spots. When asked, 68% of women find their complexion more homogenous after 8 weeks of supplementation. This improvement is 40% compared to the beginning of the study. Other results have been observed concerning the freshness and luminosity of the complexion, as well as the smoothness and firmness of the skin. After 8 weeks of supplementation, 77% of women see the radiance of their complexion improved. The increase is 62% among this sub-population.
SkinAx² has been thought in order to promote the product communication, with demonstrated claims. Four different kinds of claims have been considered: generic claims, beauty claims, proprietary claims, and consumer’s satisfaction claims. More than 15 claims can be used to communicate on SkinAx². As example, it can be claimed: “Contributes to the maintenance of normal skin” or “Contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of skin”, thanks to SkinAx² content in vitamin C and zinc. It also can be said: “Tested under dermatological control” or “After 8 weeks of supplementation, 79% of women find their complexion fresher”.
