Welcome to our webinar.

Live better, feel good, and stay mobile formulation strategies for today's consumer.

I'm Stefan Rou, and today we welcome Morgan Lalou, Business development manager of Lonza.

And Catherine Durell.

Platform editor at CNS Media.

Welcome.

And we hope that everyone in our audience is safe and.

Health is more important than ever before, and it is understandably at the forefront of everyone's minds right now.

At Lonza, global partner for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and biotech industries, we help our customers create products driven by consumer health needs and value.

A few housekeeping rules maybe before we start.

This webinar is followed by Q&A, so feel free, do not hesitate to answer your questions in the dedicated Q&A box on your screen.

The presentation, of course, because that's often a question, is available for all the people that registered for this webinar.

But now let's move on.

Today's discussion is about the consumer demand for food supplements that do really the job that allow him or her to maintain his or her active lifestyle in a society where looks and likes are part of daily life.

So Katherine, what is today's consumer and what is the market telling us?

Thank you very much, Stefan.

Yes, I'd like to present some statistics provided by Enova Market Insights.

So to begin with, many consumers can relate to being expected to juggle work, family, and social responsibility, and this is all while they're striving to maintain physical and mental -being.

In this, in this era of busy lifestyles, 16% of French consumers say that they experience stress more than once a day.

And this rises to over 20% of UK consumers.

Balancing busy lifestyles is necessary as consumers want to benefit from living life to the fullest.

This could be in terms of holidays or dining out, for example.

However, they feel that this can also take a toll on their mental and physical -being, with fast lifestyles also necessitating compromise and rebalancing.

As a result, a rising consumer and NPD trends include those that tap into mental health, sleep, cognitive function, healthy aging, beauty from within, relaxation, and joint health, to name just a few.

However, crucial differences emerge when generational concerns are taken into account.

The millennial group, which encompasses people born between 1981 and 1996, are prioritizing a balance between the physical and mental elements of -being.

When considering products, they're more likely to opt for ones that can boost their immunity as as skin and mood health.

Meanwhile, Generation X places a strong emphasis on mental health.

This group of consumers born between 1965 and 1980 seek out solutions for brain and mood concerns.

However, physicality does come into action when this generation considers mobility.

Finally, baby boomers are largely the generation that parented millennials born between 1946 and 1964.

This group is keeping a close eye on innovations in the healthy aging space.

Like Generation X, boomers also place an emphasis on brain health as they seek to retain mental sharpness into retirement age.

This group also has unique physical demands which include fighting sarcopenia and osteoporosis.

With such a diverse range of demands across generations, industry must be versatile in targeting multiple conditions.

However, supplements are seen as an easy way to boost intake of key nutrients, with 40% of UK consumers agreeing that it is more easy to achieve the recommended intake of nutrients with supplements than with food.

Further variation is also seen between regions, as we can see in this chart.

North America accounted for 44% of global supplement launches in 2019, with Europe making up 35%.

Asia was home to 11% of launches, while Australasia, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa accounted for just 53, and 2% of launches respectively.

Supplements can address a broad range of demands, with immune health being the leading positioning over the last 5 years.

While it grew by 2% between 2015 and 2019, current global concerns may see this category rise even further throughout 2020.

Brain and mood health is also on the rise, as was seen in 22% of product launches in 2019.

And 3rd and 4th place for 2019 were energy and stamina and bone health.

These categories accounted for 19 and 17% of product launches respectively.

Notably, general positionings for health and wellness have been on the decline, going from being featured on a quarter of product launches in 2015 to just 17% in 2019.

As we saw in the generational breakdown, many consumers are prioritizing mobility.

This is especially relevant for industry as much of the global population increasingly skews older, which is creating a lucrative market.

According to a 2017 study, over half of UK consumers are concerned about joint health and reduced physical activity levels due to health with regards to aging.

Notably, a further 38% are also concerned with bone health.

However, nutrition can lend a helping hand here, with 7 in 10 consumers believing that healthy aging starts with what they eat and drink.

In addition to addressing a broad range of nutritional concerns, nutraceuticals are also seen diversifying delivery formats.

Traditional tablets and capsules continue to be the preferred supplement dosage forms for EMEA consumers, but functional food and drinks are now in 2nd and 3rd place.

Meanwhile, 7% of EMEA consumers prefer gummies.

Other trendy delivery forms worth keeping an eye out for include sprays and shots.

Amid all of this action in the supplements arena, collagen has emerged as a key ingredient within the EMEA region.

There has been 60% average annual growth in supplements with collagen in the last five years, with 2018 and 2019 seeing particularly significant jumps.

Within this category, skin and bone health are the fastest growing health positionings for supplements containing collagen ingredients.

Meanwhile, joint health has seen 67% growth since 2015.

In addition to offering a broad range of delivery formats and positionings, there are also many types of collagen to choose from.

One example is hydrolyzed collagen as seen in these German capsules featuring coconuts.

Meanwhile, collagen type 2 is seen in these check supplements, which note that type 2 collagen is one of the essential components of articular cartilage.

Finally, undenatured collagen type 2 can be found in many supplements, including these two examples from Germany and Bulgaria.

In the latter example, the collagen is also combined with curcumin.

This concludes my presentation about these supplement trends, which I hope you all found informative.

I'll now hand the floor back to Stefan.

Thank you, Catherine, for such a quick, very crisp, and very clear understanding about the trends and what is the consumer looking at and what does he find on the shelf today.

But is this, is this really it?

No, there is, there is much more because on top of his demand for products that meet his aspirations to live better, to live longer, sustainability is a prerequisite to remain and develop a successful brand.

Today, mainstream consumers are steadily adopting stronger environmental ideas.

They are increasingly looking beyond the product, and they show interest in companies' sustainable initiatives.

3 out of 5 consumers are worried about climate change.

1 out of 2 consumers trust sustainable, sustainable reproduced brands.

And recent 2020 data showed that 4 out of 5 adult consumers show real interest in what is that company doing behind this brand.

So, Knowing this, let's have a closer look to a sample of today's hypertensive segments that Katherine just brought up and that address the needs of the consumer desire for -being.

For the aging population, preserving mobility is really key solutions to maintain joint health are in demand, like Katherine said, by 7 out of 10 50+ aged consumers in Western Europe.

The consumer desire for easy and convenient solutions to feel and look good and to maintain that active lifestyle that is so precious.

Are really a nice showcase for novel food supplement designs.

In addition to those exceptional conditions, we all this requires strong inner balance.

Supported by a healthy sleep.

But not least, nowadays, we also spend a lot of time behind our LED screens.

Because they enable us to be active, on the social media as an example, even after work.

So, And what about the dosage for?

Katherine just has been speaking about food and food supplements.

Vegetarian hot capsules are an essential factor to achieve the consumer requiring clean labor claims.

And they, they are present on more than 3 out of 4 product launches.

So what about long capture your vegetarian portfolio?

Does it meet the standards?

Does it meet the requirements on what is next?

And What about What are these new novel finished products?

With science-backed ingredients that are going to meet the requirements of today's consumer.

Morgan, could you, could you elaborate on this?

Yeah, hello Stefan.

Hello Katherine.

Hi.

Hi everyone.

Yes, I will be happy, happy to elaborate a little bit more on this and, walk you through some product concepts during the second part of the webinar, that fits very the trendy market trend that has been, presented, presented previously.

So here is our first product concept and we will start with quite niche and under the rise market segment which is the one of digital defense.

So I'll I'll first start by giving a little bit more context about this this new and trending market segment.

So with increased life expectancy and aging population, age-related macular degeneration, in short AMD, is also expected to increase by over 30% in the next 20 years worldwide.

Moreover, all generations are spending more and more time behind blue screen light.

It can be your smartphone, your tablet, or of course your computer.

In today's society, blue light screens are everywhere.

Research showed that luane may help.

And you would tell me what is glutane, and lutane is an antioxidant found in the brain, skin, and in the back of the eye.

It functions in our skin and eyes is to absorb high energy wavelengths of visible light known as blue light.

And it works together with a similar antioxidant known as the xantine to protect the brain, skin, and eyes.

The human body can make glutein, so this key nutrients to come from your diet or from your daily supplementation.

In the eye ligan is found around the macula where together with the xanthes it protects the eye.

It has been reported that the relevant daily intake of flutein and the antine would be about 10 and 2 mg respectively.

To address the blue light effects related to our new way of living, we have designed a unique VCAPS formulation containing a blend of antioxidants, keratinoids, and methane to maintain eye health.

The source of kerotenoid that we have selected here is called fluaglo, and fluaglo is a ludane, a natural ingredient for vision supplements.

Backed by over 20 years of research.

It's one of the safest, most trusted buttane brands.

It is an extract of marigold flowers providing the same absorbable form of lutein found in common foods such as kale, spinach, corn, or even peppers.

The whole concept here is powered by our patented liquid fueled capsule, plant-based kneecaps colored with food to support pure clean label strategy.

Moving on to the next concept this time we will address the mental and cognitive health, and we switch from a visage form to another.

We were presenting a through a liquid filled capsule, and he will talk about the LAPs daughter technology, let's say, which is called the DC.

And the duo cap dosage form consists actually of a small inner capsule filled with powder, as you can see on the slide floating in a nutritional oil or a blend of several oils encapsulated in a bigger outer capsule.

This kind of premium dosage form is particularly adapted when you want to avoid any potential degradation of sensitive active ingredients such as long chain fatty acids, for instance.

Here's the product concept.

In the other capsule, we have used the branded IDHA containing fish oil that contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function.

And in the inner capsule we have used a branded clinically researched ingredient called Cereboost.

Cereboost is actually an extract of North American Meanex ginseng.

And it has been shown to work on 3 major parts supporting cognitive function.

First, it enhances the ability to obtain a focus over time.

But it also improves working memory reaction time and finally it also improves working memory capacity.

But that's not all.

There is another brand of ingredient in the inner capsule.

This time it's named Think Blue, and Think Blue is a patented blend of white blueberry extract, L-cysteine, and L glut.

We have scientific data that Thin Blue has shown to improve episodic memory.

Let's now review a little bit the other ingredients.

They are very simple.

The inner capsule formulation is completed with zinc and vitamins from the B group to bring additional benefits, but also some approved EFSA claims on normal cognitive function to further help you position your product in this very specific health category.

Moving on with the next one, we are now going to address sleep and mood after, after your brain has worked at high speed.

Now you need to relax a little bit and get some rest.

This product concept is still featuring a duo cap dosage form.

And here I would like to underline not the protection between active ingredients that could be not good for each other.

I would like to showcase how we could play thanks to the Duo cap technology on the release of active ingredients.

Duoup has been used this year as , and we will play on the, on the release of the active ingredient like I said.

The other cup contains here a lavender essential oils that get you relaxed and which also comes with the pending EA claims on relaxation.

And the inner capsule can be filled with saffron extract, for instance, if you want to tackle a synergistic approach of lavender oil, lavender oil, together with saffron for a complete relaxing concept.

But if you think about sleep more precisely, then The inner capsule content can also be a blend of botanical extracts that are known to help you sleep and remain in a sustained sleep.

It can be a California poppy, passion flower, lemon balm, or even the -known Valerian extract.

So here you have to, you have to imagine that the lavender essential oil will be really in the first phase, putting you in a good mood and in a relaxed mood to fall asleep, and then while you will be asleep.

The inner capsule content will release the botanical extract that will help you to keep on sleeping and, and so that you stay on the deep, deep sleep which is really, let's say recharging your batteries.

I would like to conclude this slide by saying that the use of food color capsules here in this case again fully supports clean label formulation.

What do we have next?

We have a product concept which is showcasing another technology, again, another technology of the LCAs, and here it's addressing cardiovascular health and more precisely cholesterol management.

In this very case, this advanced technology delivery systems allows a two in one convenient omega plus probiotic food supplements to manage your cholesterol levels.

And it's the big precision dosage form that you will see more in detail in the next slide.

It's actually enabling the dose of the very specific dosage of the probiotics that has been reported to be efficient in the literature.

This is why we call it a precise dosage form.

And the concept here consists of two categories of active ingredients.

On one hand we have a blend of three different strains of Lactobacillus planarum clinically proven to reduce LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, total cholesterol levels, as as increasing the good cholesterol, the HDL cholesterol levels.

The probiotics are encapsulated in the little tablets as we spoke about, and they enable the protection of the probiotic in stomach acid environment, making sure that they are delivered in the best possible way to guarantee their viability.

The studied blend of plantarum called ABlife benefits from an exclusive mode of action by modulating enterohepatic cholesterol cycle.

On the other hand, the flaxseed oil in which the pellets are floating around is rich in alpha linolenic acid.

Alpha linolenic acid is associated with the NSA pending claim on cholesterol management, which helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

So you have the efficacy, the proven efficacy of the probiotic strains in combination on modulating the cholesterol level, and then you also have the, the flaxseed oil, which is helping you to position the product in terms of communication.

Because you have an approved claim, which is sometimes a little bit tricky with the probiotics to position them in another health category than digestion.

Last but not least, this product is a perfect alternative to monocholine case supplements but is also suitable for statin intolerant patients.

We have already addressed a couple of therapeutical segments, and now we will focus the coming slides on beauty from within, another market segment that is on the rise.

So the three following product concepts concern beauty from within segments, and we will start by talking about hair.

Our kneecap's hair intensity has been designed utilizing one main ingredient called carate.

Keranate is a patented millet extract containing a rare active molecule named miliocin.

The millet is carefully cultivated in the Loire Valley in the area of Chateau Chambour exclusively for Roberts, the owner and the supplier of the beautiful ingredients.

Through eco-friendly extraction methods and patented encapsulation systems, the bioavailability of meliacin is immense in order to get the most out of what nature has to offer.

The mode of action of Kiat could be summarized as follows Fighting hair loves by asking where it starts in the bulb.

Without going too much into details, Karanate reduces hair loss and contributes to her beauty by increasing growth factor IGF-1 that promotes cell division and controls hair life cycle.

By stimulating cell proliferation in the hair bulb, reinforcing hair anchorage and allowing optimal nutrition in the air.

And by increasing collagen thickness around the hair bulb, helping a stronger hair anchorage.

The efficacy of Careate is confirmed through clinical trials on hair loss, hair beauty and brightness, volume and density, and the ingredient benefits from beauty claims accordingly.

We also offer the option to add biotin or safflower oil for additional benefits and claims.

It's also worth noting that the concept already fully in line with clean labor strategies with its 100% plant-based composition is also available in organic grade using our transparent plant-based VAs made out of raw material coming from sustainable cultivation.

We stay in the beauty from within segments now talking about the skin.

The next product concept is called LA's holy skin, and we want here to create a product that that that addresses solid skin hydration and have selected another patented ingredient, Lipowit, for its specific content in phytoceramides.

Lipoat is an extract pot is extracted from wheat grain harvested in France and in Europe through gentle processes that preserve the quality of its precious lipids.

In the skin, ceramides guarantee cell cohesion and ensure the integrity of the epidermis.

They play a key role in dehydration of the skin.

The top of your skin The epidermis is composed of flat cells.

Ceramides are key components, about 40% of the intercellular sement between the epidermis cells that create a barrier against moisture loss as we age.

Ceramites are lost, opening up the skin and depleting its moisture, which results in dry skin with a dull appearance, itching, and wrinkles.

Depoit replaces blood ceramides, which restore the skin protective barrier and keep moisture from escaping.

In the dermis.

The ceramides also stimulate the cell activity and promote the synthesis of collagen naturally present in the skin.

This dual activity in the epidermis, but also in the dermis helps to reduce visible signs of aging such as wrinkles and lines.

From an efficacy standpoint, now, the clinical trials performed on Tumab confirm a triple action of the phytoceramides for a 3 in 1 skin hydration concept, reducing wrinkle appearance and skin roughness, but also improving skin radiance and smoothness.

The use of such beauty claims can be made depending on the local regulatory environment, and the addition of vitamin A or safflower oil, for instance, is also possible for additional benefits and claims.

Here again, the concept already fully in line with clean label strategy is also available in organic grade.

It's now time to talk about the 3rd and last product concept for beauty for women, and this one is called Duoca champagne glue.

So we move again from a NAS dosage form to a duoca dosage form here.

And for the last beauty from within concept, we decided to go maybe for a more cosmetic-like approach targeting skin radiance.

The star ingredient of the formulation is called skinex.

It's a patented and clinically tested formulation of grape seed extract, melon concentrate, zinc, and vitamin C.

The extract is made out of grapes, 100% from champagne varieties providing highly available flavono monomers.

But as as French melon containing super oxidizetase SOD.

The anti-aging effects of champagne glu duoca is further reinforced by nutritional oils such as borage oils, safflower, or argan for a synergistic approach.

How does skin work then?

In brief, each ingredient that is part of the skin a, remember we said 4, plays a key role in the mode of action.

The following activities are associated to skin a reduction of tyrosinase activity, an enzyme catalyzing melanogenesis, hence, as a result, it's reducing the production of melanin.

It confers resistance of collagen fiber, therefore preserving skin elasticity.

It improves microcirculation.

It is also combining primary and secondary antioxidants to fight oxidative stress and free radicals formation.

And finally it's boosting collagen production.

In terms of science and the scientific background, the effect of skin on skin radiants has been has been tested in an 8 week interventional clinical trial using 3 levels of evaluation self assessment.

Tests under dermatologic control and physical measurement and physical measurement of elasticity through cryptometer for the experts when it comes to this kind of methods.

Skin was shown to improve skin luminosity, skin elasticity, and to reduce skin imperfections.

The last market segment we will be covering today is the mobility.

Something that goes together with the mobility, of course, are the diseases that prevent you to stay mobile longer as we age, and mostly the diseases are named arthritis and the main one is osteoarthritis.

Arthritis is defined as an inflammation of the joints and often used to mean any disorder that affects joints.

Symptoms generally include joint pain and stiffness, but may also include redness, warmth, swelling, and decreased range of motion of the affected joints.

Like I said, there are over 100 types of osteoarthritis affecting millions of people worldwide, and osteoarthritis is the most common form.

It occurs when the productive cartilage that cushions the ends of bones in your joints wears down over time.

The cartilage is a firm and slippery tissue which is highly important to ensure normal function of the joints as it permits nearly frictionless joint motion.

As a consequence of the cartilage deterioration, you may be left with bone rubbing on bone.

Osteoarthritis process cannot be reversed.

Staying active, maintaining a healthy weight, and other alternative treatments may slow progression of the disease and help to improve pain and joint function.

Age aging is a major risk factor, but anyone who injures or overuses their joints, including athletes, weakened warriors, military members, and people who work physically demanding jobs, may be more susceptible to develop osteoarthritis at the age.

And now I'm happy to introduce the star ingredient of our mobility platform product concept, a very unique ingredient called UC2.

UC 2 stands for and in nature type 2 collagen and is our patented and in nature type 2 collagen that supports joint health.

It is a very special type of collagen not to be compared with the dehydrolyzed one.

The unique and innovative mode of action of UC2 triggers the immune system to produce its own collagen in order to repair articular cartilage via a mechanism of action known as oral tolerance.

What's also unique about UC2, it's the daily dosage of 40 mg delivered once a day that will for sure ease consumers suffering from pill fatigue as they may take too many pills per day or two large pills or often both.

Last but not least, the efficacy of UC2 in improving overall knee function has been proven through several clinical trials and respected publications in the most famous journals when it comes to osteoarthritis.

So we have created a platform of products, ready to market solutions in order to address different patient needs.

First, we have a convenient size 3 capsule.

I don't know if you are all familiar with the sizes of the capsule, but size 3 means actually a very, very small capsule, and this capsule is containing UC2 together with vitamins and minerals for health claims on joints.

So we have here manganese and copper that contributes to the normal formation of connective tissue and vitamin C that contributes to normal collagen formation.

And that ensures the normal function of, of the, of the bones as , for a complete synergistic approach.

We also have a Duoca combining highly bioavailable liquid curcumin and UC2.

We will touch on this one more in detail later on.

We have a soft gel containing UC2 plus the long-chain fatty acid, omega 3 EPA DHA for their anti-inflammatory properties.

And the last one is the decas combining UC2 and vitamin K2.

More details to come on this one as.

Here's the product concept in DuoCup.

I guess I'm not teaching you anything, new if I say that, it is important to consider bioavailability when it comes to turmeric extracts.

Hence we here have selected a highly bioavailable liquid curcumin, actually 185 times more bioavailable than standard curriculum extract, to work hand in hand with our UC.

The curcuma extract will be released in the first place and thanks to the known anti-inflammatory properties of the curcuminoids, the active ingredient that you can find in curcuma extract.

The curcuma would actually relieve the pain on the short term, acting as a true anti-inflammatory molecules.

However, removing the inflammation does not help in the long term.

And here comes UC2.

The inner capsule containing UC2 would be working on the long term, preventing cartilage degeneration and modulating the chondrocytes to produce new and healthy cartilage, tackling mobility issues to the roots.

The last concept we wanted to show you today is LA's mobility combining UC2, vitamin D, and also vitamin K2.

So the key elements here would be UC2 of course, but also the vitamin K2.

Because of course we understand that maintaining healthy bones is key to preserve mobility, and K2 is very known to maintain healthy bones.

YUC 2 works on the chondrocyte activity as we have already talked about, the vitamin K2 ensures activation of bone building osteocalcium, but also directs the calcium from the bloodstream to the bones where it will be ultimately used as fresh material to consolidate the bones.

We therefore here propose a synergy between two key ingredients that address bone and bone health at the same time.

And with this product concept, we're already closing the showcases we wanted to show today.

I hope you somehow have learned something new that you thought they were innovative and maybe somehow disruptive.

So I would like now to hand over to, Stefan for the conclusion.

Thank you, Morgan.

What a waterfall.

What a source of inspiration.

This is really an impressive showcase in all these different segments.

What is for sure is that to maintain an active lifestyle, to stay mobile, to feel good, in our modern and aging society.

Combining the latest clean label capsule technology delivery platform with science-based ingredients and literature was just an example for mobility.

We can say that food supplements in here.

Again, could have access to truly novel solutions.

Responsibly designed.

Don't forget about sustainability.

To meet the demand of consumers who aspire a better and longer life in a sustainable world.

Thank you very much, Morgan and Stefan, for this informative presentation.

And I'd also like to thank our listeners for sending in some interesting questions.

I'll now host a Q&A session with the speakers.

So to get started, here is a question asking, does UC2 have any synergistic effects with the other ingredients that you mentioned combining it with?

Yeah, so, so I guess I'll take this one more than here.

Yes, indeed you can think about different synergistic formulation utilizing UC2 in combination with some other ingredients like we have reviewed, a good combination is to use anti-inflammatory properties of curcumin extract.

That together combined with UC2 will work on the short and long term in order for you to remove the pain associated to osteoarthritis, but also to work on the regeneration of the cartilage so that on the long term you don't feel the pain anymore.

And this is only 11 possible synergy.

You can think as of combining it with vitamin C.

Since vitamin C has the properties to build up new collagen within your articulation, that would, that would further reinforce the effect of UC2.

You can think about vitamin K2 as , vitamin D, manganese, copper, so, there are actually a bunch of different possibilities.

Great, thank you very much.

And while we're still on the topic of UC too, I see another question here asking if it could be used for skin health since it's a collagen.

Yeah, so that, that's a good question and the answer is pretty simple.

No.

So all our evidences are related to the, to osteoarthritis pain and mobility of the knee, and this the reason is because UC2 is such a very specific and in nature type 2 collagen.

With the preserved epitops that are responsible of triggering the immune system, so no, it is so specific that UC-2 is fully and entirely dedicated to joint health.

I see.

Here's another question asking how have you seen the supplement space change in the last few years and what do you think has been driving these changes?

So I, I think that the major changes that we have observed over the past year is definitely switch towards clean label approach, so ah clean label ingredients, recipient, capsules, the way of manufacturing the capsules should be as clean as possible too.

So this is really nowadays a key element in every new product development brief we may receive from our customers.

And I would say as that the rates of, transparency and that the consumer is looking behind the brand, behind the product, and behind its efficacy.

He also wants to understand what's in it, how it has been manufactured, I don't know, maybe is there any child labor involved or, such parameters that today really, participates to the buying decision of, of newly informed customers.

All right, thank you.

Yeah, I, I, I think if I can add on that is that the consumer is much more informed than in the past.

He has really access to multiple sources of information, so he really becomes a responsible consumer, and I think that that's really a big change and science, for instance, is important.

It's important that you can come with clinical proof of the of the product that you're presenting there.

Indeed, thank you.

Here's another question asking what are the primary R&D challenges that you face and how do you overcome these?

So this is a little bit related to to clean strategy because today, our customers, they want to have bright colors when it comes to the visual aspect of their food supplement.

They don't want to have a controvert recipients such as silicon dioxide or titanium dioxide.

So we have to be creative and we have to use material.

That has never been used as exception before, and this is really a challenge for our formulation team because it's really a game changer for us as from a pure R&D and technical standpoint.

But as long as we're not worried about that, we're, we're happy to take the challenge.

Great, thanks.

And, finally, one of the listeners wants to know what the food colored capsules you were referring to are.

Yes, so indeed this, this wording has been used a couple of times during the webinar.

So by food color capsule, we mean capsule that are colored with the food concentrate.

So typically when you would color the capsule, the coloring that you would use would be considered as an additive, a food additive, and it is regulated by the, the Eend rules.

So, you will use chlorophyll for instance, even though rid from the a material from natural origin, it's still, it's still has any member.

When you use what we call coloring foodstuffs, so, ah, basically it can be a concentrate of purple carrots, for instance.

It is not considered as a food additive because the extraction was not performed in order to, to end up with the pigment, with the colorant.

It was just the concentration of the food raw material and to the point where the final extract and coloring properties.

And so, in this way, we really bring on the market a colorful capsule still.

But cleaning the labeling of your final product by removing any number associated to color it.

Great thank you I think that that concludes today's questions so I'd like to I'd like to thank everyone for tuning into today's webinar brought to you by Lanza.

I hope you've all found it as eye opening as I have before we sign off I'd just like to remind you that all questions that we didn't have time to answer today will be answered by email and additionally an on demand recording of this webinar will be emailed to you shortly.

Additionally, a PDF of this presentation will be available for you to download from the, the page you're currently on under the handouts bubble, and the final note for me is to keep up with the latest developments in nutrition news.
