09 May 2019 --- DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences is putting forward its hydrocolloid portfolio as a key solution to providing appropriate nutrition to those suffering from dysphagia – the medical term for swallowing difficulties. Leonardo Rubio Anselmi, Strategic Marketing Manager at DuPont, tells NutritionInsight at Vitafoods Europe that the company sees particularly strong potential for xanthan gum and gellan gum, in the creation of products that are easier to swallow.

18 Oct 2018 --- Digestive health was another key theme a key theme at Vitafoods Asia. The role for probiotics and prebiotics in addressing metabolic health syndrome remains on the rise. “Some of the most recent studies focused on metabolic health and the effect on things like diabetes, weight management and more. That is where we see a lot of interest. A recent study involved more than 400 studies given probiotics for more than 6 months. If you look at the build-up of fat mass, you see a significant loss in both the probiotic group and another where probiotics are combined with polydextrose,” says Anders Henriksson of DuPont Health & Nutrition, who presented at the Vitafoods Asia conference on this study.

Probiotics that meet senior nutrition demands

23 May 2018 --- DuPont Nutrition & Health highlighted the role for probiotics in senior nutrition. “At DuPont, we have a probiotic product called Howaru Protect Senior. We recently published a meta-analysis where we researched how this strain affects the cellular immune health of healthy seniors. In this meta-analysis we pooled data from four clinical trials. The results were that it was highly efficacious in enhancing the key immune cells fighting against bacterial and viral infections,” says Liisa Lehtoranta at the company.

True Sustainability Across the Packaging Chain

15 May 2017 --- DuPont and partners showcased a landmark project on nutrition, packaging and the circular economy at Interpack 2017. The Virtuous Circle project report was launched ahead of leading global packaging forum. The project kicked-off in October 2016 with the delivery of the first wave of FUTURELIFE Smart food pouches to South African schools. These innovative multilayer film pouches are used to provide drinking water and a nutritious meal in one package that can be easily transported over long distances to remote areas and requires no need for refrigeration.

New Probiotic Solution for Infant Nutrition

13 Jun 2016 --- DuPont launched their HOWARU Protect EarlyLife probiotic at VitaFoods Europe 2016 as part of its premium ingredient range. The new, clinically tested probiotic has been demonstrated to support the development of long-lasting immune health benefits in infants. HOWARU Protect EarlyLife contains the probiotic strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN001TM, and has been formulated specifically for expectant mothers and their infants.
