Vanadium-containing natural water helps ease diabetes- research
Asahi Soft Drinks confirms that it increases the number of insulin receptors and glucose transporters and helps pancreatic B cells to produce more insulin.
01/07/05 Japan, Asahi Soft Drinks has announced the results of its latest research on vanadium-containing natural water. In collaboration with Asahi Breweries, Nihon Pharmaceutical University and Tokyo Medical University, the company conducted mice experiments to find out how an intake of vanadium-containing natural water affects the condition of diabetes. Vanadium is a mineral found in shellfish, parsley, and black pepper.
The results indicated that the intake of vanadium-containing water helps alleviate diabetes: specifically, it increases the number of insulin receptors and glucose transporters and helps pancreatic B cells to produce more insulin.
