28 Feb 2014 --- A high-carbohydrate, high-calorie diet could delay the progression of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease or Lou Gehrig’s disease, according to a phase two study published in The Lancet. The new study, funded by the Muscular Dystrophy Association, was performed at twelve ALS centers and led by Dr Anne-Marie Wills at the Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, USA.
