Savvy Faire Lifestyle Cuisine certified as “Low Glycemic”
Savvy Faire Lifestyle Cuisine products have passed the strict clinical criteria during The Glycemic Research Institute’s independent human in vivo clinical studies.
03/06/05 The Glycemic Research Institute in Washington, D.C. announced that they have completed independent human in vivo clinical studies on Savvy Faire Lifestyle Cuisine, and that the products passed the strict clinical criteria and have been certified as "Low Glycemic."
The medical staff and associate research fellows of the Glycemic Research Institute (GRI) conduct ongoing clinical studies in humans (in vivo) to determine the glycemic index, glycemic load, diabetic, and fat-storing properties of foods. Determining how humans metabolize foods allows scientists to gain insights to the varying effects different foods have on human metabolism.
All six of the Savvy Faire Lifestyle Cuisine meals underwent clinical trials at the Glycemic Research Institute Clinical Human Testing Laboratories to determine their blood glucose, insulin, glycemic index, glycemic load, and fat-storing properties. Every Savvy Faire product passed all of the clinical criteria legally and scientifically required for Low Glycemic foods, and GRI's coveted Seal of Approval may now be used on these Savvy Faire food labels and in marketing:
-Italian Sausage Scramble
-Baja Jack Scramble
-Lasagna Florentine
-Roasted Chicken
-Herb Crusted Chicken
-Braised Beef
Long accepted as part of a healthy lifestyle in other parts of the world, low-glycemic diets are a growing trend in the United States. Widely practiced for more than 10 years in Europe, South Africa and Australia, low-glycemic diets are garnering headlines supporting what health professionals in these countries already know: low-glycemic diets are helping people lose weight and decrease their risk of disease.
Studies at Children's Hospital Boston and published in Journal of the American Medical Association and The Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine confirm the findings, citing weight loss and evidence of decreased heart disease, cancer and diabetes.
The Glycemic Research Institute has been the industry leader in glycemic testing and research for the past 20 years, receiving the first glycemic patent and Federal Certification ever awarded. GRI conducts clinical studies for the food and nutrition industries worldwide and implemented the GRI Seal of Approval Program to quantify the beneficial properties of low glycemic foods, drinks, pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals by clinically testing products under a standardized protocol.
