19/01/07 Phyto-Source, L.P., one of the world's leading suppliers of high purity non-GMO wood (plant) derived sterols, announced an increase in capacity of their manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.
Phyto-Source's plant capacity has been successfully increased by over forty percent to meet the increased demand for the company's cholesterol-lowering food ingredient, Phyto-S-Sterol. The increased capacity has been achieved through process debottlenecking initiatives, technology improvements, and capital additions.
Bill Sonnier, President and CEO of Chusei (U.S.A.) and Manager of Phyto-Source, notes that "this recent expansion of our ability to produce high quality phytosterols is just the first step in our goal to significantly increase our production volume and capabilities. There will be further expansion of capacity and product varieties at our Houston facility in the near term. We are also moving forward with plans to build a major manufacturing plant in Europe so that we can better serve that market's growing need for phytosterols."
