Nutritional Research Company launches supplements range with vitamins C and high-potency D3
14 Aug 2023 --- US vitamins, minerals and supplements supplier Nutritional Research Company has unveiled a supplements range for improved immunity with three proprietary blends of vitamin C and D3, 1000 international units (IU) and 2000 IU.
“We want to extend our reach and positively impact the lives of people globally, helping them achieve and maintain optimal health. Nutritional Research Company has sourced the best ingredients to include in its Absorbable range of supplements to ensure maximum absorbability for the body to receive the full benefit of the nutrients,” says Monika Scott, co-founder of Nutritional Research Company.
“These products have undergone rigorous testing and certification to guarantee safety and efficacy.”
Absorbability is the body’s ability to absorb and assimilate the active ingredients in a supplement after oral consumption. The degree to which the body can absorb and utilize nutrients sets different oral supplements apart.
Proprietary fruit extracts
Absorbable C features a proprietary blend packed full of natural fruit extracts like acerola cherry, amla powder, camu-camu powder and rosehip powder to provide multiple health benefits. Research shows that the human body absorbs vitamin C from fruit extracts more readily.
The Absorbable D3 blend encapsulates vitamin D3 within a liposome and closely resembles cells making it ideal to pass through them and be optimally absorbed.
“When you take a supplement, the nutrients must traverse the complex digestive system, overcome barriers and finally enter the bloodstream to reach the required cells and tissues. The human body is an intricate network of processes, and the efficacy of a supplement lies in its ability to make this journey successfully,” explains Scott.
At the same time, in 2022 researchers flagged that hypervitaminosis D is on the rise, a condition arising from the overconsumption of vitamin D.
Vital vitamins
The International Alliance of Dietary Supplement Associations called for a global agreement on vitamin C recommendations, as figures between the lowest and the highest have a near-threefold difference.
Vitamin C prevents scurvy, helps protect cells from oxidative damage and helps to maintain healthy skin, bones and cartilage. It also supports the immune and nervous systems.
Royal DSM is implementing a “major reduction” of vitamin C production at its Jiangshan plant in China with immediate effect due to unsustainable pricing, negatively impacting output. This year, it would reevaluate the situation and possibly return to normal production levels.
Meanwhile, adults with prediabetes who take vitamin D supplements are 15% less likely to develop diabetes, according to a recent review of three clinical trials published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. According to the study, around 374 million people have prediabetes worldwide.
Moreover, calcifediol – the active form of vitamin D – can significantly affect absorption with consumers increasingly turning to vitamin D for its link to immunity, supplements containing the vitamin remain in demand.
