4/11/2011 --- Anlit Advanced Nutrition, Israel, in close collaboration with Ingredia Nutritional, France, has developed "Sweet Dreams" an advanced supplement format designed for children age 1-14 to sleep better during the night. “Sweet Dreams” are sugar-free, vanilla-flavored bears containing Lactium. It will be launched at VitaFoods in Geneva, Booth # 2027 and also showcased at Ingredia Nutritional booth # 844.
Observing the calm state of a baby after drinking milk, researchers attempted to identify a relationship between milk consumption and calmness. Using a well-known digestive enzyme, Ingredia Nutritional developed Lactium, a milk casein hydrolysate containing a bioactive decapeptide with relaxing properties.
Lactium is a food-grade, patented product that represents a breakthrough in the field of nutrition. It is a unique, innovative and natural bioactive ingredient with an effectiveness supported by a decade of research and strong clinical studies.
“Sweet Dreams is an outstanding product in a friendly delivery format designed to cope with sleeping disorders of children,” says Shai Karlinski, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Anlit. “Partnering with leading functional ingredients companies worldwide like Ingredia Nutritional, using our propriety child friendly delivery system, is an integral part of our strategy”.
Anlit has developed a high stability, anhydrous matrix in addition to single sealed units for each bear to increase the product shelf life. “The delicious vanilla-milk taste keeps the child relaxed and the mother happy,” adds Karlinski. ”Each yogurt bear contains 75mg of Lactium to support a good night’s sleep for toddlers and children. It’s an important addition to our product line of supplements for children designed to answer specific health concerns.”
“Lactium can improve sleep quality and duration” notes Alain Baniel, R&D Manager at Ingredia. ”This is vital when it comes to children, who need long and restful sleep during their growth period. And the company or retailer marketing Sweet Dreams has a great opportunity to employ a clean label for the product.”
The best time to take Lactium is before bedtime. This recommendation is based on the fact that the lack of sleep, often provoked by stress from that day, only increases the stress level for falling asleep. Lactium can help to relax and get a better night's sleep so they're better able to meet the demands of the day ahead. Thus, it can help break a vicious cycle of poor sleep and stress.
