Nexira to debut microbiome modulation and appetite control offerings at SupplySide West
03 Oct 2023 --- Global natural ingredient expedient producer Nexira will launch two nutritional supplements at this year’s SupplySide West trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada, US, that boost weight management programs – VinOgrape Plus, for microbiome modulation and Carolean for appetite control.
According to Nexira’s research, consumers consistently rate weight loss as a top health concern. About 40% of consumers globally want to lose weight but are interested in a holistic approach, as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle, which Nexira coins as the 360° approach.
VinOgrape Plus is a natural grape extract rich in powerful antioxidant compounds, oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) and anthocyanins. The prebiotic effect significantly modulates the gut microbiome profile after dysbiosis induction. VinOgrape has also significantly increased the abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila, suggesting a beneficial role in metabolic disorders.
Appetite control
Carolean, a proprietary patent-pending complex, is designed for appetite control using carob and nopal. Carolean’s complex shows synergistic efficacy in reducing appetite and limiting cravings.
Carolean is positioned to increase satiety by increasing viscosity in the stomach, giving consumers the sensation of feeling full.
The product consists of a green alkalizing recipe with alfalfa, matcha and lemon as a cleanser, detoxifier and antioxidant. The whole powder range will be presented at SupplySide West.
Each ingredient has a limited capacity of viscosity, but when combined, the viscosity becomes exponential, contributing to positive results.
David Foreman, from the Herbal Pharmacist, will present the concepts in a webinar on Tuesday, October 10, for manufacturers and brands.
Ingredients for weight control
Amid a significant growth spurt in the demand for weight management products, the segment demonstrates a progression from supplementation toward healthier lifestyle choices such as stress management and boosting the metabolism.
An energy-restricted diet that prioritizes almonds can also help people lose weight and improve their cardiometabolic health, according to an extensive new study by the University of South Australia (UniSA). Nuts are often overlooked in weight management strategies because they are high in fats. However, current research shows their benefits are manifold.
