New Study Shows Fiber One Cereal Provides Satiety
Results of this recent study support that earlier research and suggest that switching from a low-fiber flake cereal to Fiber One Original at breakfast time may be an easy way to cut calories without feeling hungrier.
10/10/08 Millions of Americans are searching for a simple way to eat less and still feel satisfied, according to General Mills. A cereal breakfast including Fiber One Original cereal may be an easy way to cut calories without feeling hungry. A recent study, presented October 6, 2008 at the Obesity Society annual meeting in Phoenix, AZ, shows that a cereal breakfast including a 60g serving of Fiber One Original cereal and milk satisfied appetites-- but for 100 calories less than the same 60g serving of Kellogg’s cornflakes with milk. When study participants had the Fiber One breakfast, they felt satisfied and did not make up for those missing calories at lunch, three hours later.
Previous research found foods high in fiber can help curb hunger and that people who eat diets higher in fiber weigh less and gain less weight over time. Results of this recent study support that earlier research and suggest that switching from a low-fiber flake cereal to Fiber One Original at breakfast time may be an easy way to cut calories without feeling hungrier.
