IADSA Welcomes Mexico Association Into its Fold
Created in September last year, ANAISA brings together companies in the country dedicated solely to the manufacture or marketing of dietary supplements.
Feb 24 2012 --- International trade association IADSA this month welcomed its newest member, from Mexico, the National Association of Food Supplements Industry (ANAISA).
Created in September last year, ANAISA brings together companies in the country dedicated solely to the manufacture or marketing of dietary supplements.
Key issues for ANAISA include advertising of food supplements, and the association has developed its own Code of Ethics to self-regulate the sector in this regard.
The new association’s official launch last week was attended by key officials of the Mexican regulatory body responsible for food and food supplement regulation, COFEPRIS, and representatives of the influential scientific bodies, the National Institute of Public Health and the National Institute of Nutrition ‘Salvador Zubiran’.
“We are delighted to have ANAISA as a member,” said IADSA Chairman Pete Zambetti. “We welcome organisations that work towards facilitating a political and regulatory framework for the growing dietary supplement market. Through our members we strive to ensure consumer safety through legislation, regulation and guidelines founded upon credible scientific principles.”
IADSA is the voice of the worldwide dietary supplement manufacturing industry offering membership to independent and representative dietary/food supplement manufacturers and suppliers associations across the world.
Since its creation in 1998 it has more than doubled in size, now representing over 50 national trade associations and over 20,000 companies.
IADSA is an accredited international non-governmental organisation with a seat at the table of the main international regulatory bodies and Codex Alimentarius.
