Glanbia Partners on Innovative Energy Drink Prototype
08 May 2014 --- A few months ago, Glanbia’s Turkish distribution partner, Yener Gida, started a new project with a local energy drink manufacturer. The target was to copy a well-established energy drink brand.
As Yener Gida distributes the company’s nutritional premixes as well as Firmenich flavors in Turkey, they decided to create a prototype using products from both. The energy drink includes the Glanbia-blend as well as the Firmenich flavor together in one concept.
Glanbia Nutritionals Customised Solutions provided the vitamin/mineral energy premix, according to their long term expertise in this segment. Glanbia’s experience, service and flexibility resulted in a premix that complimented the color of the beverage in addition to giving the perfect color in the final product using the appropriate amounts of riboflavin.
According to Firmenich, it is the taste which drives the sale. Firmenich uses state of the art innovation with their TasteGEM product. The aim of these products is to restore full flavor to fortified and reduced calorie products. The challenge of compensating for the reduced sugar content as well as masking the taste that comes along with traditional nutritional premix was successfully achieved between the two.
Yener Gida was able to deliver this collaborative effort between Glanbia and Firmenich as one delicious, refreshing energy drink during the FI Istanbul. Many visitors had interest in this project which came as no surprise as the market is expecting to continue to grow drastically over the upcoming years. It also provided a nice boost to keep visitors walking the show’s floor in the afternoon.
