Fi Europe 2022: Angel Yeast to spotlight extract product launches and fermented solutions
22 Nov 2022 --- Yeast technology player Angel Yeast will continue to promote its innovative yeast-based solutions in the European market and introduce new solutions at this year’s Food Ingredients Europe (FiE) 2022 trade show in Paris, France (Dec 6-8). These solutions include yeast proteins for plant-based milk and new yeast extract taste products, on display at Booth #4.C143.
The company also plans to highlight its green sustainability practices and solutions.
“The company has always been committed to the responsibility of promoting ‘food safety, nutrition, taste and human health and well-being,’” Eric Ao, general manager of the Europe Division at Angel Yeast, tells NutritionInsight.
Ao further explains that Angel Yeast aims to “promote the technological progress of the biotechnology industry, advance sustainable agriculture, develop products and technological innovation, advocate a healthy lifestyle for global families and foster the harmonious development of the environment and ecology.”
Not just for baking
The company has been operating in China since 1986 and is one of the premier producers of yeast-based ingredients.
The company’s new products include plant-based protein alternatives and savory flavorings.“We will bring special products for the tradeshow, such as natural high glutathione content inactive yeast as natural dough release conditioner, yeast protein for plant-based milk and vegetarian foods and tea extract for beverages,” says Ao.
“Angel Yeast will launch a new range identity of yeast extract product series for taste solutions, including AngeoPrime, Angeoboost, Angeotide, AngeoPro, Angearom and Angeocell, to help clients fully understand the product features and make the correct selections.”
Angeoprime is a savory taste extract high in amino acids while Angeoboost is an umami extract that reduces the need for salt. Angearom is a flavor extract that can impart specific tastes such as chicken, beef, soy sauce and even cheese.
Additionally, Angeotide is a peptide extract with a lingering taste the company says is “perfect” for soups, while Angeocell is high in protein and can be used in bouillons. Angeopro is a sustainable vegan protein source.
Toward a yeast-filled future
Ao further elaborates on the company’s commitment to sustainability, stating that it strives to be a “resource-saving and environmentally-friendly company.”
Moreover, Ao says the company intends to actively achieve the goals set by the Chinese government’s Action Plan for Carbon Dioxide Peaking Before 2030, the main goal of which is to reduce the use of fossil fuels by 65% per unit of gross domestic product (compared to 2005 levels) within the next eight years. Furthermore, he states that the company is endeavoring to develop a fully circular economy.
“Sustainability has been at the heart of our business strategy and our operations,” Ao stresses. “It is embodied in our brand mission which aims to create value for customers, be a responsible company and contribute to a sustainable planet.”
He also says that the company attaches a high priority to ecological protection and green development.
“Through continuous technological innovation, the company further improves the clean and environmental protection level of its production processes, promotes the high-quality development of upstream and downstream of the yeast industry to contribute considerable strength to the sustainable development of the world,” concludes Ao.
